how much do you think a lightly used Springfield armory 1911 (base model) would go for?

You should be in the vicinity of $400.00. Less for a good to very good, more for a excellent to NIB.

if its the GI or milspec..probably $350 to $420 range..
if its the loaded model..a little more..

I recently found a LNIB that a guy was selling for $300
