Stopped by a local shop and during the conversation with the owner he mentioned that it was getting hard to get the sar-1.It seems his supplier is backordered due to everybody freaking out about the possibility of war.Thats my luck! I was waiting for uncle sam to send my money back so I could get one and now this.
:cuss: Anybody else seeing this happen in your area?He had a couple of the single stack clones but I was sure wanting a double stack. Are the single stack worth a crap or should I wait till everyone calms down and get a sar-1?

I would contact Centerfire Systems, or J&G Sales, and ask them if they have any.
I haven't heard of them drying up.
Doesn't make any sense really.
Do people think they are going to be shooting Iraquis in their yard?

Haven't heard that one....

We have plenty at the exchange (SAR-1s) - couple of weeks ago we sold over $15,000.00 in guns over Fri and Sat - not one was a "hunting" rifle or shotgun.

All sells were "combat or assault" type rifles and shotguns.....

We joked around saying people were getting ready for RED DAWN.....

I hope a truck doesn't backfire around those people - it's gonna sound like a day at the KD range.....

454c, I got mine a couple of weeks ago from gerry@iosports.com (email) in ID. Best price I found on the net. Came with 10, 30, and 40rnd mags. Give him a shout. Oh, and yes, it does go bang everytime I pull the trigger! Straight sights and gas tube. Was hitting clay target at 50 yrds consistently. Does have some trigger slap but that's an easy fix. Can you tell I like mine? ;)

I think we may have another case of "I can't get you one so that means no one else can either" dealer syndrome. :D

Try the above links....and http://www.gunsnammo.com too.

I have a single stack clone, it is a wasr 10. It was imported as a single stack and then once incountry they opened up the mag well and welding some pieces in and now it accepts double stacks.

All of this was done long before I bought the gun from an ffl as a new gun so don't ask me if they had fun hopping through the hoops.

The one thing people say about the wasr 10s is that you have to open the mag well a bit more to fit a drum in them. I feel they accept and hold normal double stacks just fine.

Many people also think the wasr 10 has better wood or wood finish or whatever.

I also have a sar 1.

I like them both just fine and would have no problem with only having one of them, but of course if one is good two must be better. :)

A buddy of mine called me today to find out if it was true that "the Walther P99 is getting hard to find". The dealer was trying to justify his $559 price tag.

Sounds like you've got some alternatives for the SAR1... Good luck!

Thanks for making me feel sick Onslaught, I can't even find the P99s most of the time and when I do, $600 is usually the minimum.

Seems like there are plenty of SAR's at JG Sales...
