LA HABRA -- Antiwar protesters burned and ripped up flags, flowers and patriotic signs at a Sept. 11 memorial that residents erected on a fence along Whittier Boulevard days after the terrorist attacks in 2001 and have maintained ever since.
Typical.

A lot of these "anti-war" protesters live in a fantasy world of immunity and impunity. I expect lots worse when the war is underway, including civil obedience and worse. The real concern is what happens when the Right begins, finally, to take to the streets. We haven't seen that in America in a while. It could be damn scary.

Punks. Wonder why they don't take their protest out in front of a Marine barracks/?
The thread on Kent State was a real reminder of just how violent the 'peaceniks' can be. While I respect legitimate right to protest, an awful lot of 'those people' are just a bunch of cowardly brats acting upsort of like the PETA folks that like to throw paint - ever notice how often they sling it leather-clad hairy ol' bikers vs yupper crust women in fur?

No, Professor, they are not confused. They are spoiled and guilt-ridden.
It's all "America's fault."

I have great respect for people who want to change this country around by swimming against the current...but sometimes you're just an a______.
I love Skunk's sig line, "Everybody wants to save the world, but no one wants to help mom do the dishes." -PJ O'Rourke
Embetterment of this fine country through hard work and determination is one thing, being a bleating sheep is yet another.

It was suggested that much of these protests really point out what an easy life these folks have. Do you think a protest against hamburgers by PETA would get much of a hearing if most people worried about thier next meal? The California gnatcatcher or spotted owl would be is sad shape if just having a roof was a problem. Land mines in korea aren't talked about much in South Central LA where gang bangers control some streets.
I sorta hope it stays that way. I don't want the problems that will force these people to face reality. I admit I sometimes wish one of them would have to face the question - my child or a monkey - and then tell me the choice is the same. But then I don't want them reproducing.:scrutiny:

I say go to city hall there, as was mentioned in the article, and burn their flags (as is the proper way to dispose of US flags), then run the hammer and sickle up the pole. It is a more appropriate flag for that place, in any means.
They can't do a thing, since it would be "free speech." :barf:
