Va. Rep. Urged to Resign for Remarks About U.S. Jewish Community (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,80768,00.html)

WASHINGTON — A group of Northern Virginia rabbis is calling on Congressman Jim Moran to resign over comments he made at a public meeting.

While discussing a possible Iraq war, Moran told a group at a Reston church: "If it were not for the strong support of the Jewish community for this war with Iraq we would not be doing this."

"The leaders of the Jewish community are influential enough that they could change the direction of where this is going and I think they should, Moran said.

Moran issued a statement apologizing and insisting he never meant to imply the Jewish community is responsible for, or should be blamed for, a war.

But it's too late for Rabbi Jack Moline o Alexandria -- one of six area rabbis urging Moran to quit. Moline calls the congressman "sorely misinformed" and "terribly insensitive."

Moline says Moran has asked to meet this week with Northern Virginia rabbis, and plans are being worked out.

W/ morons like this in Congress, I'd rather the Jews take over. (War on Terror would be A LOT SHORTER... )

If the Republicans have any brains, they'll stand behind the Jewish community on this issue. I would love to see Jim Moron (my Congressman :barf: ) become the next Trent Lott. However, this is far from his first scandal, and he's still here (in his seventh term), so I'm not holding my breath.

By the way, he's very anti-gun-rights, of course. :fire:

I wonder if this has something to do with the support Jews usually give the democratic party? Would they be asking for the head of a Republican congressman on a platter by now?

Trent Lott = racist

Jim Moran = "sorely misinformed" and "terribly insensitive"

If "the Jews" were as powerful as this racist thinks they are, he'd have been out of office 10 minutes after saying this.

Yes, I am a Jew, and when the ancestors of the right honourable gentleman were brutal savages in an unknown island, mine were priests in the temple of Solomon. -- Benjamin Disraeli, replying to a taunt by Daniel O'Connell

As he well should be!

BTW, do you have any other orders for us today, Master? ;)

The American Jewish community is plotting this war with Iraq so that Israel will be subjected to missle attacks, suicide killers and general mayhem. Wait, what's wrong with this logic Mr. ex-Congressman?
