Deployment of a rifle carried muzzle-down (http://www.olegvolk.net/newphotos/rifledeployment.rm) is my first try. Since I couldn't figure out how to use hasty sling based on Jeff Cooper's book (due to poor photo reproduction), I decided to show it on video...and also how to unsling a rifle. This technique is normally taught for shotguns but works for rifles as well.

I should have done the process in slow motion for clarity. The length of the narration was much longer than the footage, and extending the video messed up the pacing a bit. Recommendations for cheap or free audio editing software for Mac OS9 are welcome, as the voice-over is weak.

Mr. Volk:

Excellent work, as always. Point well taken about "muzzle may become plugged"

BTW, what rifle are you shooting in this video?

The rifle is an 8mm FN49.

I plan to re-make this video with more detail. I am not sure about showing both sides, might show right and front instead, as the change of direction is distracting. Got voiceover on keeping the muzzle from covering friendlies, sidearm transition, just need more video footage to balance the audio.

Oleg, this is what I use for my audio editing. It's free and excellent, at least the windoze version.
