I have done a little handloading over the years using the lee hand equipment. I have a couple of these mainly because they are inexpensive and perfectly good for hunting ammunition. I have now aquired an H&R rifle in caliber ......38-55 Winchester. I have been told that Lee does not make a handloader for this caliber, But I may be able to find a Lyman 310 tong tool. I can't find anything recent on the web so I assume this would be an old/obsolete unit. Any help in locating one OR any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. :banghead:

Well if you like beating on your cartridges with a hammer, call Lee direct. They will make things they do not catalog and that people do not know to tell you about.

Otherwise:

Not nearly as cheap as Lee. Probably because they don't make many these days.

Lyman has discontinued many calibers in their 310 tools...., so has Lee with their loaders...Also, 38-55 bullets are few and far between. Best place to hunt for these items are gun stores that carry reloading items or gun shows. Run out to your local mag store, and buy the newest HANDLOADER Magazine. Great article on loading for the 38-55.
