Too Many Choices!?

I am sure this type of subject has been thrown around before but the other thread got me thinking.....

A few to get us going...1."Machinge guns are illegal" sheeple
2 "Assault weapons are more dangerous than other semi auto firearms" brady bunch-sure a gun that fires WEAKER bullets than dear rifles is MORE dangerous

3 "Blood in the streets at the end of the assualt weapons ban" ......Almost every news outlet on earth and repeated by sheeple

4 "No honost man needs more than 10 rounds" Bill (send them lambs to the slaughter)Ruger....Benidict Arnold

5 "Police across the nation support the assualt weapons ban".........brady bunch, news media, sheepl, police talking heads
Actual officers that patrol a beat did not support the unconstittional law.....

There's a new link in the library (http://www.thehighroad.org/library/) to a collection of anti-gun quotes. "Never Forget" in the top section of the right column.

It's xml+xsl, so if you have an old browser it may puke and just give you raw text or something. I dunno.

My current fave is in regards to the FN 5.7 and referring to it as a "cop-killer." This has also been used to describe other guns and types of ammo. To imply that a gun is somehow inherently more deadly to members of a profession is just ridiculous.

JUST ONE LIFE, isn't it WORTH it?"

Ignoring, of course, how many lives could be saved if the victims were armed. ;)

Ban Huskevarna chainsaws - they are Forest Service killers!
Ban spoons - they are talk show host weight enhancers!
More truckers die needlessly at the steering wheel of a Kenworth - so BAN KW - it's for the truckers!

"This semi-automatic Assault Weapon fires 'X' rounds per second" *

* 'X' being some number greater than the rate of fire of any AUTOMATIC weapon known to Man.

Found no use for the law....One even told me he prefered "assault type weapons" because they are weaker than "hunting rfles" and encourage spray and pray......"I will just pop him on the reload" is what he said....I still don't know if he was talking about autos or semis though.......

I have little doubt that the majority of law-enforcement officers supports “assault-weapons” bans, just like the majority of the general public. Of course, there are pro-RKBA cops out there, but I think all four of them post here on the High Road. ;)

A friend and I were discussing a story about concerning a local man who, according to the news report, has had 3 machine guns, 17 suppressors, and 2 handguns stolen. One of our anti coworkers chimed in with, " Great, more assault weapons on the street."

Reminds me of an old Texas Ranger I read about in one of Sheriff Jim Wilson's collumns in Shooting Times. The old Ranger kept a 1911A1 tucked in his waistband with a rawhide string tied around the grip to deactivate the grip safety. An instructor back in the '60s got a horrified look in his face and said, stuttering, "isn't that dangerous?" The old Ranger said "if the damned ol' thing wasn't dangerous I wouldn't be carrying it." :D

The bogus term "assault weapon" itself.

Statements such as: "These Assault weapons have military-derived enhancement features that increase their lethality over normal hunting rifles allowing killers to shoot without even aiming, killing large numbers of people quickly by "spray-firing" from the hip"

That's almost a direct quote from Sen. Lautenberg (D-N.J.)

On that subject, I showed a friend of mine my silhouette 10/22 (http://home.earthlink.net/~uberphlubb/1911/1022.jpg). He said "Woah, what is that, an autoshotty?"

I put it back in the safe without saying a word and left the room.

"The AR-15 was designed by the military to shoot through schools and McDonalds." That was said by the Brady Bunch in a news paper. I read it at www.awbansunset.com but sadly you can not easily search their forum anymore so I can not find the actual source.

I had a government teacher in high school tell our class that an M-60 machine gun could shoot bullets that would travel a mile without dropping.

My cough, which sounded something like "bullspit" but not quite, and subsequent laughter did not improve my grade.

'A .357 magnum can go right thru an engine block'

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa

'Do it for the children'

Most liberals wouldn't do anything for children if they would live two years longer. Children don't vote, few have money and NONE are worth the time of day to ANY politician.

Even the thought of a 50 BMG mentioned in the media, is hyped up to make the round seem like a 105mm.

'The suspect was captured with over a hundred rounds of ammo in his arsenal'

Of course, there are pro-RKBA cops out there, but I think all four of them post here on the High Road. Well if we are talking about quotes that are less than correct then the above is one of them. I don't want to insult the person who wrote this and call it assinine - even though the sentiment expressed in the quote probably has insulted a lot of LEOs. Sometimes people have to remove their heads from a dark place where the sun does not shine and see the light of day. Acting like an Ostrich and then telling the world a description of a thing that you missed seeing because your head was buried to the neck is not a very good way to gain support of those whom you are describing. There are plenty of police officers, sheriffs, marshals, federal agents, district attorneys, federal prosecutors, probation officers, corrections officers who are strong supporters of the right to keep and bear arms, including so called assault weapons. I do not know if we are in the majority or not but, I sure as heck know we number a great deal more than four, nor are we limited to using this site!

Sincerely,
Glenn B

Some of my favorite gun related quotes:

"The .223 round was designed to injure, not kill"

"Tighter barrel twists result in less traumatic wounds"

"A near miss from a .50 BMG will still damage/injure the target"

"California has the most restrictive gun laws in the USA"

"I can shoot 1/2 MOA groups with iron sights... off hand!"

"IR lasers are illegal to own"

"you are entitled to your opinion, but saying certain things goes over the line. Dianne Feinstein is still a *human* being for God's sake..." :p

"With my Romanian, I would only pull around 3" groups at 600 meters, and I am a government trained former sharpshooter so my shooting error is null or none..."

And to analyze this "gem", 3" @ 600yds is .5MOA which is possible at 100yds with some rifle/ammo combinations but my understanding is it takes a lot of tweaking and work on the bench. With a Romanian anything, I'm skeptical. As for the gov't sharpshooter error, they're human too. Whoever said that is either so full of crap their eyeballs are brown, or they need to get over themselves. I'd guess the only shooting they're good at is shooting their mouth off on the internet.

So what you are telling me is that if an officer is shot with a semi auto assualt weapon he will be more dead than if he was shot with a bolt-action 30.06, a shot gun, or is hit with a claw hammer  ? No? Well then why would police officers that are RTKBA proponents support a ban on any firearm that is not either defective or too dangerous.... Are you trying to say semi auto firearms are too dangerous for average people? If so, please explain it to me again why the ban is gone and what makes you so special as to be able to control this wild beast, the semi auto :neener: ....

I am simply posting my experience you really don't have to agree and you can't change my experience.... YOU and the antis lost(AWB died Sept. 14 2004), so get over it:neener: ! Maybe you are one of the officers that think the police are special and should get special treatment and have special weapons? I will leave the conjecture alone though, as your post has spoken far more as to wich way you lean than I could hope to......Asinine indeed sir
