Trijicon Front Sight Question

My dad recently received his Les Baer SRP 1911 (ordered it about 13 weeks ago). Needless to say, we couldn't wait to take it out to the local range. While the gun shot flawlessly, neither of us could see the front sight very well at all (the gun is fitted with fixed Trijicons). Compared to my Glock 19 with Meprolights, the difference was unbelievable. Since he just got done spending a small fortune on this gun, he isn't exactly thrilled at the possibility of having to spend more money on new sights. Any suggestions? Replace the front sight with another brand? I'd appreciate any help you all can provide. Thanks.

Contact Les Baer. Trijicons are good sights and should be plenty visible. My Trijicons and my Heinies with Trijicon inserts are very clear in dim/no light conditions.

Any number of things could have gone wrong. Les Baer should should shoulder the responsibility. Any issue with the Trijicon is their problem, not yours, if the pistol came NIB with them installed.

Sometimes things happen. Give them a chance to make it right.

I think you're talking about seeing trijicon nightsights during day light? I do think trij tend to be this way, that's why Meprolights makes theirs with white rim around the tritium to be seen better during the day.

What Airpower said.

When it comes to night sights, I much prefer Trijicons b/c I want as close as possible to a black-only, traditional target-type notch and post sight for day shooting and they have a minimal white ring around them. If he prefers to having bigger white dots to align (and lotsa ppl do, tho I personally dislike them), then Meprolights will be much better for him.

You have explained the exact same problem that I had on my NIB
(then $760) SIGARMS P229. This bad experience turned me totally
against night sights, period; as I don't want 'em on nut'in I shoot! :D

Can he not see the sight blade, or the insert. Mepros have a white plastic ring around the night sight, which allows for quick sight pick up in day light shooting. Trijicons don't have this. I have two Glock 19s, one with Tri, the other with Mepro. I don't pick up the front sight blade on the one with Trij as fast as I do the Mepro.
