Please explain the difference

Between porting on a revolver and
a comp ( eg. S&W 66 F-Comp ).
I am looking HARD at the S&W but what
do they mean by COMP.

They perform similarly but--
Basically--
A port is just that-- Cuts in the barrel--
A Comp is an open chamber at the end of the barrel that is slightly more effective than simple porting-- Being larger than bore diameter and with a larger opening it "tends" to catch more gas and direct it with more force--
This is just a general description--
