The proposed one-gun-a-month legislation seems to make sense on the surface, but will only result in an expanded black market and deflected resources from the real causes of violent crime. There's already serious laws against buying firearms for others.
The 2nd Amendment does not permit individuals to misuse firearms. Laws against murder, rape and robbery already impose limits on the use of any weapon.
The crisis will continue until witness procedures are overhauled, communities more effectively support families and leaders start being more honest. It's good to see much of this already happening, but everyone needs to join together and focus on the real threats. Politicians and law-enforcement who put political correctness above fact and logic are themselves accomplices to violent crime.

It might get rejected, but at least you are making your voice known. I like what you had to say and it was presented well without being too critical.

California has a one-handgun-per-month law. It does nothing to prevent any crimes. All it does is inconvenience law-abiding citizens and add another layer of difficulty to purchasing a firearm.

IIRC, South Carolina had such a law and then repealed it for being a stupid waste of time.

The 2nd Amendment, itself, does not permit individuals to misuse firearms.

Remove the word "itself" and flanking commas.
