Selling my UZI. What should I get next?

I'm selling my S/A Vector 9mm UZI locally with all the mags and the .22lr kit. It has been flawless, but a semi-auto UZI is really only fun at indoor ranges.

Here is what I now have:

2 Saiga AK's converted (7.62x39)
VEPR K in 7.62x39
AMD-65 AK
Saiga 12 gauge converted
Steyr M9 pistol
Steyr S9 pistol
CZ-52 7.62x25
Polish Tokarev 7.62x25
Magtech .22lr rifle

So with $800-$900 I want to stick to 1 of two calibers for now: 9x19mm and 7.62x39. I either want a full-size target 9mm, a subcompact 9mm to carry in the summer, or another rifle in 7.62x39 or possibly add MBR .308 to the group. No Glock 34's please. Feel free to suggest others as this is not a complete list. Also, I can buy multiple guns if the total is less than $900.

Target 9mm:
CZ SP-01 w/ a CZ Kadet .22lr kit if that will work on it
S/A XD 5 inch tactical
Para-Ordnance or other 9mm 1911-based gun, has to be double stack

Carry 9mm:
Kahr PM9

7.62x39 rifle:
Krinkov
RPK
Some other type of AK variant I don't have yet

MBR in .308:
FAL
G3
CETME

Find a pre 1980 Smith Model 19 or 27. You definitely lack a good old American classic. It's like not owning a Harley. Revolvers are retro cool in this day of plastic and high capacity.

SKS-M or SKS-D (both use AK mags) and SA XD9 subcompact. Remainder on ammo.

I don't want to own a revolver and I have had SKS's in the past. I have a Steyr S9 that I feel is superior to the XD SC for carry.

I know you didn't say you want one (didn't say you didn't either though) but if I had $900 I would bulid an AR15, you would still have about $300 left so you could maybe then get an 9mm or .22lr uper in additon to the .233 uper or you could get an AR15 in 7.62x39.

Just another option to consider.

1. Sell all of your guns.
2. Buy a REAL Uzi.
3. Have fun. :)

You'll like the CZ 75B and the Kadet kit. Better yet, you can get the .40 version *and* get the 9mm barrel IIRC.

Here are a couple you should consider:

.308 Saiga, not sure of the price... I think 300 or less. Basically a .308 AK.

HKP7, it's supposed to be a great 9mm handgun, quite accurate from everything I've heard. Might even fill the summer carry gun role, the dimensions are pretty small.

Reloading kit, so you can broaden your choices and shoot for less.

You could get a converted Saiga .308 and converted Saiga 7.62x39 for that much. I would go for those if it were me.

In 9mm, I would look at either a Browning High Power, Sig 226 or Glock 17.

If you found a deal on the pistols, maybe a used one, you could get one of the pistols as well as one of the rifles. An enviable position for sure.

Buy a Saiga .308, convert it, buy a good reloading press and all the crap you need, save yourself money and shoot more and buy more guns later on... the more I think about it the better it sounds. :D

Yeah, I think you have the AK angle pretty well covered ;) It's time to grab a .223 AR-15. Or if you are dead set on 7.62x39, grab an AR in that caliber. Ya just need to get another platform of weapon is all :)

Hmmm.

In my humble opinion, you should run out and get a Kimber/Baer/Wilson/Ed Brown 1911 in the flavor of your choice.

After selling off most of my semi military stuff and upgrading to full the real thing (Class III baby!) a while back, I have been focusing on quality tack drivers. Must have been a phase I went through.

The other thing I could suggest, if you have the cash to blow, is to have at least one HK USP-type pistol in your inventory. Reliable and accurate.

And if you want novelty factor, run out and get the .357 Sig.

The accuracy of this cartridge will stun you (it shoots well even in a Glock).

This is what makes shooting fun ... finding the next toy. :D

p.s. If you decide to get a real full-auto, get a subgun, you'll find there are more places to shoot those than battle rifles.
