...the S&W .38 Hand Ejector Military & Police revolver (a.k.a. Model 10). The ultimate revolver that set the standards to which all others have had to live up to. And far superior to any Colt or Ruger roundgun ever made! :D

Should this be on the revolver forum? :neener:

K - 22 and a Webley Mke. V1. The latter because it is so ugly you just have to love it and it was/is the best fighting revolver ever made.

My vote is for a nice P&R blued S&W 19. Not too big, not too little and you can shoot big boy .357mag loads or little girl downloaded .38spl loads if you wish. I prefer the little girl loads myself but I have been known to shoot full house mags in my Rugers just for fun. A 19-3 or earlier in 4" bbl wouldn't get on too many people's bad side as far as I can see.

Nope it is the 1911 Commanders size guns. Great for carry yet you don't sacrifice accuracy like you do with the officer sized. The perfect handgun.

The one that's with you when you need it and it works!
My S&W model 27 ain't it, even though its reliable and very pretty (to me), its just too dang big and heavy to have all the time with me.
My Charter Arms .38 snubby qualifies for that, but so is my Keltec p11, Glock 17, CD compact 1911, Smith mod. 10..... :)

I concur with Longbow's first sentence.

That said, I make sure all my carry guns work! :D

the Colt 1851 Navy. Nothing made before or since balances so well or feels so right in the hand.

Yup, I gotta - co-sign on that one. Colt, Kimber or Springfield. I love the way they carry & I love the way they shoot. Give me a 1911 Commander, any time. I have a couple.
But on the other hand...............
I love my little Ruger SP101, in .357 mag. both of them make fine everyday

Colt Single Action Army. Is there anyone that really hates this gun? Anywhere? It's impossible to hate. It'd be like hating to eat or breath.

"the Colt 1851 Navy. Nothing made before or since balances so well or feels so right in the hand."

That is true. We have gone backwards in some ways with gun development. There are many old guns that feel more like they were made for the hand. The Luger is an example of a gun that feels better than any modern automatic today. Why can't they make a gun that is as natural of a pointer as the old Luger? You have to learn the 1911 grip angle because it is wrong, the Luger is natural but you can not buy a gun like it nowadays.

My 5.5" SS Single Six. Not only is it impossible to hate, it's downright lovable.
And watching my G/F's 12 year old son shoot it is as much fun as shooting it myself.

And that, my friends, is a LOT of fun.

Hate is an irrational emotion and as such knows no bounds.

For me, it would be most difficult to hate my Dad's single shot 12 gauge as I had to use that gun to keep a nunchaku wielding moron from bashing me and my friend's head in.

I would vote for about any of the S&W K frames in .38 / .357. Models M&P, 10, 15, 19, 67, 66. Snub nose are just fine, 4"'s are the best and just almost impossible to beat. The N frame 27 and certianly the more affordable 28 and others are great. And the Ruger GP and SP series or least mine perform flawlessly. I prefer a revolver or high quality.

I second the liberator. Cool history and a gutsy little gun. Designed for the resistance to walk up to the nearest Jerry and ask, " Excuse me, do you know what time it is?", and while he's using both hand to check his watch you clock him and take his rifle.
