Pulled a search on here and TFL but didn't find anything...how is Colt's warranty and customer service?

It was fine 10 or 15 years ago when my father ordered a Python and then had to send it back to have the barrel reinstalled to get the front sight to point straight up.

It's been a perfect shooter ever since.

Colt's customer service is very poor.

I sent an Ace to them three times for repair. Each time they had it for a minimum of three months. They never did fix it properly so after they sent it back to me the last time, I sold it as is.

You're better off taking your pistol to a local gunsmith.

So if I don't like messing with my guns I'm better off with something like a Bushie, Rock River or Wilson huh....:scrutiny:

Sold my Colt 1991. One lady in customer service was OK. The other guys lied to me about several stuff. I had to wait several month to get a gun replaced. I will never buy a Colt gun again. I switched over to Springfield again and i'm happy with my new Milspec.

My experience with a Mustang +2 was exactly the same as Bottom Gun.

Except that I sent them a really nasty letter with photos and they eventually refunded my full retail purchase price plus tax and transfer fee.

Actually since their rifle manufacturing process is ISO9001 certified their quality control should be pretty good. It's their handguns that suck. The ones I saw had such loose fit that it rattled. Colt = POS products with managment that doesn't understand or care. They come out with the dumbest products once in a while for collection sakes. How I do hate Colt. For useful guns buy Springfield.

I'm talking rifles here, not 1911s. I thought Colt ARs were supposed to be getting better, but i've been hearing mixed things. Not much experience so all is hearsay, and will keep an open mind... keep 'em coming.

Frankly, I doubt that Colt's "customer service" would be any better for rifles than it is for handguns.

My Colt AR-15 appears to be the same quality as my Bushmaster. Accuracy is the same too.
If I were buying another AR today, it would be a toss up between Bushmaster and Armalite since I couldn't justify paying Colt's inflated price again.

I had my eye on a post-ban Colt a few years ago. Then I handled an Armalite. Better quality hands down in my opinion. I ended up buying a M15A4 carbine flat top. Absolutely love it. I only had one malfunction with it (ammo related). Also has a lifetime warranty.
