I'm not too sure, but isn't HK one of the biggest bidders for US military contracts? How are they playing both sides?

First, HK is bidder for military contracts in a lot of countries (not including Iraq). What do you expect, it's a major international arms manufacturer.
Second, our opposition to a war does not mean that we side with Saddam.
It has no economical reasons. Some of you like to accuse us of not wanting to lose Iraq as a trade partner. While a few German companies illegally did business with Iraq some years ago, it was regarded not only unlawful but also morally wrong by both administration and public. Besides, the volume was very small.
Our opposition to a war has other (social, cultural and political) reasons which I've explained in great detail on this board before, if you care to read.
I think your president's view of nations and people being "either with us or against us" is wrong and grossly oversimplifying the situation.

Trooper, limited number of companies? Does this include Sauerkraut Street?
two, I don't know about playing both sides, but to the Euros it's all about the geld. Ridding Iraq of Saddam would disrupt their business there.

Trooper, I'm a very big German fan, VERY big german fan... And so it makes me very sad the stance Germany has taken... When did the Germans start acting... like the french???!!!
The fact that it's an oversimplification is true; but non-the-less, someone blew up two buildings, and they will keep doing it again unless they are shown that it is not only wrong, but won't be tolerated for.
But to say there is no economical reasons I think is BS... there is always economical reasons...

Let's see. We kick a horrendous dictator out of both France and Germany, to the apparant long-term benefit of the people of both. (It took us a while, but we even got the commies out of East Germany.)
We want to stomp another murderous lunatic in charge of an entire nation, and both countries loudly object.
$%@#@% fascists.
My prediction: we're going to go in there and find all of Saddam's nasty playthings, the origins of all the recent examples of same being of clear German and French origin.
France will then lose it's seat on the permanent UN security council, or Bush will serve the entire UN with a 30-day eviction notice. France and Germany will both be booted out of NATO.
Impossible? Like hell. We is PISSED, folks. No apologies, no qualms, we're way past fed up.
You guys have disarmed your own people, but desperately support a madman's ownership of an entire *nation* while killing millions.
:scrutiny:
The German death camps still exist, and have nice little museums attached, all of which say "Never Again!". Idiots. It IS happening, right this second, and Europe cheers it on. Again! Again! After all, he's only killing "those people".
No. Hell no. Every one of those Holocaust memorials in Germany deserves it's own dose of high explosives. Y'all don't have the right to proclaim an end to that, when you support it RIGHT THIS MINUTE.
Get the hell out of our way and shut the hell up.

Ditto what El Tejon, Twoblink and Jim said.

Let's see, Hitler, Satan Hu-Insane... (As I call him). If it looks like it, smells like it, tastes like it, .... don't step in it!
I think this would be a GREAT opportunity for Bush to cut all ties to the UN. The "US Cheerleading teach" as I refer to the UN and not a good one at that, really need to see what the world is like with the US support.

I'd say, get out of the way, because MOAB is about to drop!!
I love your knives, cars, women and cameras... but I can't support you guys if you are going to act like the french.
