Well, looking at getting a custom Recurve. Comparing Black Widow Bows and also Habu Bows. Any opinions or past expereinces? I do like how Black Widow bows will allow you to rent one for a week to try it out, and then you can return it for a refund or apply the cost to your new custom made one. Have hunted and used int he past a Mathew's LX compund (that I really love), but on a recent trip to China, got to shoot some Recurves at an archery range and loved the simplicity.

Given the number of quality recurves on the market, paying for a custom one is daft. Go to your local bow shop and look around. Most of them have a test range that will let you try whatever catches your eye. But spending large bucks on a custom recurve is nuts.

Well, I know there are some good quality manufactured recurves, but I like the look and feel of a custom. Can get it exactly like I want it. Plus, like the look and feel of exotic custom woods. I am more concerned about quality and the pride of having something custom made for me than the cost. Most of my gear I have is custom made and last forever such as: custom knives, custom firearms, and custom backpacks. May cost more, but ends up lasting much longer.
