Central Ohio Reloaders - Where do you go locally to buy your reloading supplies?

I usually stop by Fin Fur & Feather when I am in the area. The last couple of times though it didn't seem like they had the selection they used to have when the dept was on the main floor.

Vances does not carry a large selection; Buckeye Outdoors has a better selection but no plated bulk handgun bullets (at least not the last time I was there). Looking for a retailer who has a good selection of plated handgun bullets, primers & powder, etc.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a local retailer that meets my needs either in the reloading supplies area. So, most of my reloading business goes to Midway, Grafs, National Bullet, GI Brass and Pat McDonald.

Have an order going in to Grafs this week: all powder.

you guys are crocked! champions in new albany has very good prices on lots of reloading stuff. their selection is primarily oriented toward the CMP and olympic competition. so, i wouldn't expect to see a big selection of pistol bullets or tons of milsurp stuff, but they've plenty of sierra/lapua rifle components, primers (match and regular) and good stocks of powder (including vhita vuori)

check them out on the web before going to the store. their hours are pretty lame.

you won't get your bullets there, but you can definitely get good prices and skip the hazmat fees on powders and primers.

Champion does not carry Nobel/Vectan SP-8. Grafs has it for $49 and change for 8 lbs. Like you said, there are limitations to what Champion carries, too.

For pistol powders I like to go to Airport Gun Club just west of Lancaster ($80.00 for 8lb of Bullseye). They have Winchester primers at a decent price but I need Federal. Call ahead their hours are strange but they are open on most Saturdays. For plated Berry's bullets I can't beat Cabelas. I get my primers from New Albany Shooting Range by the case because they give a case discount if you ask. I don't really need to worry about brass, see the sig. I use to be able to get primers at the gunshows but that guy never comes here anymore.

M,

I wonder if there is a niche here?

Midway, Grafs, Natchez, Pat McDonald and GI Brass makes it so easy I'm not sure that there would be enough demand to support a retail outlet catering to the reloader. For small lots, I'll hit Vances or Aumillers in Westerville for stuff.

I'd be a bit wary going out on a limb like that.

Because of this thread, I'll have to check out HQBrass, too. :)

He has some good looking prices doesn't he though? I just picked up 500 'once fired' cleaned and decapped 9mm on Ebay for $5 plus $8 shipping from a guy who sells to raise money for a jr shooting club so I figure it went to a good cause even if the brass isn't as advertised but he claims it is hand inspected and no milsurp.

I got 8lbs of Alliant Promo (OEM RedDot) at Fin Fur & Feather for 70+tax. Sales person said it may be a little dirtier than RedDot but I don't see how it can be any worse than Unique! Also got a good price on Federal OEM SP primers; I figure at $12/1000 couldn't go too wrong.

I've long had the problem of the Fin not having what I've needed. I find it is best to call Nathan (he runs the reloading dept.) about a week before you show up and have him order and put stuff back for you. And National BNullet Co. is your friend.
