6 bucks is hard to beat, Id stock up for sure if it were near me. Is that all Gander Mountains or just there?

In exactly three words: load your own.

Very elegant .38 spl +P with shiny copper plated bullets cost me less than $4 per 50 to reload. Don't need to shop the shelves to hunt down just the right load or have to do with something else because what I want are on back order.

For .40 S&W I'm partial to the wally world WWB. Accurate enough for range and IPSC.

For .357/.38 Spl I've used most all of the major brands but keep coming back to Sellier and Belloit. Excellent high quality stuff at a very good price. I'm partial to 158 gr bullets so that's all I've ever used of it. Can't speak to other bullet weights.

Hard to beat that price for commercial .40S&W ammo (Blazer Brass is good stuff, IMHO). Why that's almost as cheap as 9mm! :what: I'd say jump all over it.

It is hard for me to find inexpensive 357 ammo locally. In fact 357 ammo can be quite pricey.

Standing Wolf beat me to it. anytime i am looking for something to do, i can always crank out a few. i look at factory prices on ammo and feel like staggering backwards and grabbing my chest. 'sides reloading is a great hobby thing and if you have the time to cast bullets, it can be very inexpensive. spend a few minutes selectiong a load and shooting can be done for 2/3 cents a round. primers are the most expensive component so catch them on sale and stock up. now if you are shooting a Glock - - -

Reloading is fine if you have the time to do it. Me, I'm lucky if I can even find time to shoot much less reload. For 6 bucks a box I'd rather just buy factory stuff and not have to worry about it. My time is worth more than that.

Rifle shooting is a whole other story though. For the Garand I have to load my own. No way I'm going to pay 20 bucks a box for Federal Gold Match! :what: :what:

Like I said though it's all about having the time. Reloading or even rifle shooting is out of the question for me right now. :( A trip to the rifle range just takes too long. Hell, when you shoot service rifle competition it can take me nearly as long to get my gear out of the truck and get setup as it does to drop by the indoor range and shoot off a 100 rounds of pistol ammo! Boy I sure miss shooting my Garands though. :( Sorry, I'm rambling. Back under my rock now.

Have an XD40 and CCI Blazer Brass at WalMart for $7.94 a box. It is easier to shoot thean Wincester White Box.

For my CZ 75B .40S&W, I avoid the 165 gr. Win Value Pack ammo, since I had problems with it. I am convinced this gun shoots better with 180 gr. ammo, so I buy the regular Blazers or Blazer Brass FMJ, or the Rem. UMC MC.
