both are good. the Winchester has a better safety setup. The three position safety just works better. The remington safety does not lock the bolt and twice I have had the bolt catch on stuff and open while walking thru the woods. The remington trigger is better and more easily adjustable. Most people would agree that out of the box a Remington is going to have slight edge in accuracy over a Winchester, but we are talking very small levels nowadays. Both will shoot under an inch, with factory ammo. I think the Remington stock is nicer than the shadow stock too. that said I have a 270 in a shadow, and a Sendero in 25-06 as well as a few adl's bdl's and vs's

I would have to say Remington is better. Trigger is easy to adjust and if it is close to my 700 VS then you will be very happy. Here is a link describing how to adjust the trigger.
