OK Folks - ONLY C&R vintage - old as you like too.... including old cheapie beaters. We have had threads covering most other categories but I think it'd be useful here to show some real old stuff all in one place.

The Webley was rebuilt pretty much from parts - having been a badly neglected piece. I gave it a cold blue treatment after much prep'ing which, provided kept protected by a CLP or RIG film, copes quite well. It does have a slight issue with sear - regarding S/A ... tho D/A is good.

The other two? Well - just interest junkers!! Pretty beat up!

I've got a brand new C&R and I'm just waiting for an excuse to use it. I'll watch this thread VERY closely. Thanks P95!

This is a 1949 S&W HeavyDuty shipped to M&H sporting Goods in Phila. It is a great gun, I am really wanting to convert it to 45 colt but... it is a very good condition transitional heavy duty, Post war, Long action.

Brian, how did you confirm the manufacture date (and therefore C&R eligibility) and did you get it in writing? Where did you buy it from? How much did it run you, if you don't mind sharing? Thanks!

All pre-numbered 38's and 357's. (except for a nice pre-25 in the cokes on the upper left)

The 38/44 hd in the 11 oclock position is within a couple hundred serial numbers of the first HD made.

The Registered Magnum in the 9 oclock position is a nice 1939 RM!

As for you Peter - that's just (deliciously) obscene! :D

Matt357 I sent in the Serial number and some photos with a discription to S&W and their historian Roy Jinks sent me a letter back with the pertinate info regarding my gun.

I got it at a local shop near here, Fix's Gunsmith near Reading Pa. I got a good deal on it considering it was marked as a M&P, not a Heavy Duty.
