I assume some of you take Precision Shooting Magazine. What do you all think of writer Roger Clouser and his long range handgunning articles? I think he is the most innovative and interesting gun writer alive today. I also think his handgunning exploits are the most provacative since Elmer Keith. What say you?

I seldom see that magazine, but I think that Brian Pearce at, "Rifle" and ,"Handloader" is the closest writer we have today to Elmer Keith, whom I knew. And Pearce writes much better than Elmer did, especially before Elmer's text had been edited. He knew his stuff, but was literarily challenged.
Pearce covers both rifles and handguns, and is evidently a rancher, like Elmer was. His material is among the most practical being printed today.
Long range revolver shooting goes back to at least 1908, when a club in Kentucky or some nearby state used to hold matches at 300 yards.

right, right. I know about the Kentucky live turkey and chicken shoots. Impressive stuff to be sure. But this guy Clouser is shooting revolvers out to 1,000 yards, and doing it systematically and with some thoughtful results. I don't know of anyone else how has done that kind of thing and written about it in a systematic and purposeful way.
Brian Pearce ... I've read a lot of his stuff but never focused much on how good it is, etc. I need to start paying more attention, I guess.
You don't see PS magazine because it is a subscription only publication. They refuse to sell it on the newsstand. I say good on them.
