Okay, I found a great deal on 250 rifled slugs for 100 bucks. Wolf is the only company that I can find in "bulk".
Do you guys know of any other bulk ammo sites that might be cheaper than cheaperthandirt.com??

Thanks

Oh and also, would cheaper ammo such as Wolf do any damage to my gun??

Thanks

It depends on the weapon. Wolf is steel-cased ammo, which can be tough on some pistol extractors.

Wolf gets mixed reviews, but the overall theme seems to be that the ComBloc calibers (9x18, 7.62x39, 7.62x54, etc.) work just fine, (in ComBloc weapons of course), but people's experiences with Wolf in Western calibers are more mixed.

You might get a better price at Ammo Man (http://ammoman.com/). The prices include shipping. You could also try Ammunition Store (http://ammunitionstore.com/).

As for damaging your shotgun, I doubt it. Some people have problems with Wolf, but that tends to be with the centerfire ammo. I've never had any trouble with Wolf. Not the most accurate ammo but it's good plinking fodder.

That is not that great a deal, you can 250 remington slugs for $125 by just buying them in the 5 round boxes so I would bet you can find a deal that is quite a bit better than what you have there.

Midway has Wolf slugs for $90/250. $80 if you get the dealer discount.

I used some Wolf slugs recently, and was pleasantly surprised. They cycled my 11-87 100%, recoil seemed mild, and they were plenty accurate for my uses.

Wolf has not damaged any of my guns.

Also check www.outdoormarksman.com for some pretty decent deals.

It seems to be dirty ammo but if you clean your guns like you're supposed to, it won't be an issue.

I have shot a few boxes of their 00 buck with no problems.
Did not pattern all that well through my shotgun though.

Wolf shotshells are high quality and made in Germany. The same goes for their rimfire ammo.

I don't buy ammo from CTD, they charge an extra fee, for ammo. Why ?

Oh, the dreaded extra handling fee because of the weight?

I have shot lots of Wolf slugs through my Mossy 590 with no problems. They should be fine in your gun. But, that is not a great deal. I bought mine in a smaller quantity for less money at a gun show.

Genaraly all the problems with Wolf in .223 that I have head of have to deal with weapons extractors *cough*AR-15*cough* problems. Wolf .223 works just fine in my bolt gun. The muzzle flash isn't that great either, important since it has a night scope on it.

250 for $100 makes them $2 per box of 5, which is what I pay locally for PMC brenneke slugs. The Wolf shotshell quality is as good if not better than PMC, so i'd say its a good deal.

I bought a case of Wolf SG slugs a couple months ago.

Started sighting in my Red Dot equipped 12ga.

In short order, maybe 15-20 shells the slugs were flying wild and making square holes in the plywood backstop.

The slugs leaded the barrel up so bad I still haven't got it all out.

I don't think Wolf .223 will damage the guns. It's big problem is it's so inaccurate.
A friend gave me a case and a half of Wolf .223 because the accuracy was so poor.
I use it for sighting in to get on the paper and for blasting in my Bushmaster pistol.

I just bought a pretty accurate bolt action 7.62x39 and have been looking for a accurate factory load. Norinco Green box will shoot about 2 inches at 100 yards.
Wolf will mostly stay on the target.

best advice for buying any ammo in bulk is to first buy a test sample, a few boxes. shoot them see if you like how they shoot, function and if accuracy is where you want it to be. If you like how the shells perform than buy more, if not keep shoping. the only way to know how a shell works in your gun is to run them through your gun.
