Two Guns On Layaway?

I buy guns fairly often and sometimes put them on layaway while I round up the cash.

Right now, I have two guns on layaway. One is a BHP Practical which is close to being paid off. At an out of town dealer last week I put some cash down on an Old Model Ruger Blackhawk in .357. The fact that it was an old model made it interesting and the auxiliary 9mm cylinder sealed the deal.

It's unusual for me to have two deals going at once. Usually I pay one gun off before starting another deal.

Anyone else got two guns on layaway?

earlier this year when all the year-end close-out stuff and special pricing was around, and whatever incentives were available, i had 2 remington 700 lvsf's, a rem 700 adl, a springfield xd, and a ruger single six on layaway at 2 different shops at the same time. got them all paid off, and then celebrated by buying my s&w j-frame (well, no, not really... one of the shops had a huge s&w promo, and i didn't have a choice...).

two reasons why,
i recently bought a very nice, deep gunsafe. i have been trying to get it filled up!
also, with the assault weapons ban expiration, i have been making up for lost time. strangely though, i did not buy any high-cap firearms until my lateset purchase last week. i bought a colt leo 6721. i put that one on layaway 2 dys after putting a stainless officers acp on layaway, which i had put on layaway about 2 weeks after i put a n m1991a1 stainless on layaway. i briefly had 3 colts on layaway.
well, i picked up the 1991a1 and then the 6721, i still have the officers acp on layaway but will pick it up next friday. then i plan to stay away from the gun shops fro awhile and just shoot all these nice colts. :neener:

I have had 3 or 4 at a time on layaway because I run into certain models that I have been searching for.

You're sick.
Seek medical help for your addiction...

I've done it, 1 fine firearm at a time, though. :D

I cant remember ever having two on layaway, but I have paid cash for one and put another on layaway. Or maybe I already had one on layaway and paid for the other. I cant remember.

Last summer I picked up a shotgun that I'd had on layaway and put a Smith M19 on it the same day.

I'd forgotten about that until just now.

I walked into my favorite gun shop and told the counter guy we had to get cracking on 3 pistols. He wanted to know "how we gonna buy 3 in one month?" (In case you didn't know, we've got this 30-day-between-purchases law).

Answer?
He had one in stock -- we bought that in March.
#2 just appeared in the 2005 catalogs and the CA Roster -- it would take a few weeks to locate one and get it in. We'll buy that in April. Order/pay now.
#3 is a semi-custom with a 12-16 week lead-time. Place the @#$#@% order. Half down now.

He tuk my money.

#2 came in today -- I'll DROS it on the 12th.
Seeing as #3 won't come in until June-July Timeframe, we're dickering over a Colt for my May buy -- if he can find it.

I admit "deposit on an order" isn't exactly "layaway". It's more expensive, yes?

ACP230;

Yup. One's now paid off, but still hasn't arrived and the other's still on lay-away.
