I remember seeing pics at one point of Barami Hip Grip knock-offs that were made of wood. Anybody have a source for these?

Found them. They are made by Don Collins.

Do you have a link to a site? I tried a quick Google search but found nothing about handgun stocks.

Looks like he does some beautiful work. I used to carry a Chief's Airweight with a Barami Hip Grip. This was before they started supplying them in pairs. i just didn't like the look of black plastic on one side and wood on the other. :p

Now, to decide if I want a pair of walnut "Lip Grips" for my Model 37 or my colt Agent . . .
