I need to buy some mags for my full-size steel EAA Witness .40. I may use the gun in IDPA or IPSC competitions.

I bought the gun with one 10 round mag during the ban. I don't know what a "normal" mag holds. I would prefer high cap mags if possible. I'd also like them to fit within the normal grip size if possible, although I might buy bigger ones for competitions.

I've looked around and found 12 rounders. I've also seen a 15 rounder at http://catalog.jgsales.com/, and +2 basepads at brownells. I've also seen some extensive discussion on various forums about compatibility with mags for CZ 75's and Baby Eagles/Jericho's. Some of the writers have mentioned problems with compatibility, though. Can anyone help?

Try here:

Two of the three mags that I bought won't lock back the slide on my Baby Eagle .40, but they feed just fine. The third works perfectly in all respects. For that price, I say try a couple out. You can always return them.

With the Witness there are large frame and small frame models. The large frame 10mm/40 S&W models will hold 15 rounds. AFAIK, the only way to get a large frame 40 S&W is to buy a 10mm and get a conversion barrel. If you bought yours as a .40 S&W then I think it's a small frame and (according to CDNN), the capacity is 12.

www.savvysurvivor.com has a lot of Witness accessories. That's where I got my 15 round 10mm mags.

CDNN has 15-round factory 10mm EAA mags. I just bought three.
