Ideas, anyone?

In order to further clarify who is the enemy among us, let's hear some ideas on
how to spot your average sleeper cell terrorist. Is he for real or some mid-
eastern Walter Mitty/Omar bin Plottin' type. Is he super uber tactical in the mall ninja sense or the truly well trained, sophisticated boogy man menace
that the Homeland Security boys would have us believe. With all of the fat targets abounding in this country of ours and no incidents since 9/11, I grow suspicious of the hype. Anyone else?

Just to be safe I'm going to ask every person I meet from now on- "are you, or have you ever been a terrorist". That should work. I don't think they would lie.

Flashbacks to Good Morning Vietnam.

"Well we pretty much as them, Are you the enemy?, and if they say yes we shoot them."

I just look for swarthy male persons who continually look over their shoulder...

You can't spot them. They ones who crashed the planes were taught to assimiliate themselves into our society. Heck, they drink booze (as if they wouldn't anyway the first chance they get when they're away from home), go to strip bars and hold steady jobs.

It could also be simple things like intelligence gathering. Tourist snapping shots of a well visited building. Denver barriers, concrete benches, raised walkways happen to show up in those photos and they know how "hardened" the target is.

Rule of thumb: just like WW II, you see something not quite right, call the police and the FBI. Get details and be a good witness. Who knows where it'll lead to. Remember, it was Boy Scouts who reported footprints in the sand that tipped off the FBI that the Germans landed spies in Maine in winter.
