How about the list of short action hi power bolts. Ones that are set up right, but the action is so small to chamber a round (bother !!!!) that a lefty could operate with speed from over receiver.

Why do you think Lefty bolts "aren't great"?
Savage makes several left-handed bolt action rifles that are absolutely excellent in quality as well as value.
They have heavy barrel sniper models, light weight hunter models, and even a scout model.
I can't imagine you not being able to find one to suit you.
I have one of the left handed lightweight hunters in .308... and it's a great, light, accurate, powerful rifle.
While it is true that I do currently have it listed for sale, it's only because, as it turns out, I don't have time to go hunting, so I'd rather have another "fun range gun" than a rifle that stays in the safe.
I'd still recommend the Savage bolt guns to any lefty without reservation. And if I do sell this one and then later decide that I somehow have more time and need another bolt action to hunt with, it will definitely be a Savage too.

I don't really understand you questio or statement here. I am a lefty shooter and although caliber options are limited that there is still great choices out there. Remington makes the most option. In fact they have a special section on hteir website specifically for left-handed firearms. Even browning/winchester are making the new short mag in the model 70 and a- bolt. Check out he major manufacturer sites and you will get a feel of what you option are. rem, win, browning, ruger and weatherby. If all else fails go custom.

Axeman ,
I've got a short action Remington lefty in .308 . I had an aimpoint on it for years and it worked well . I recently took the aimpoint off and rezeroed it with milsurp ball . Except for the recoil due to the sporter weight of the rifle It's pretty fast to work .
I have heard of gunsmiths cutting a clip slot in the reciever bridge so one can use stripper clips in it . Is that what you mean by being fast over the action ?
