I have an opportunity to buy an older model Taurus. It's an m-85 .38 special with a 2 inch barrel. No rust and the bluing is in good shape. I'm not in the market for a .38 but if the price is right then I'd be up for it.

I checked on gunbroker.com and there's one up for bid right now with bidding starting at .01 and nobody appears interested.

What would you pay for this pistol assuming that you're not looking for one. It'd have to be a pretty sweet deal I would think.

Welcome, Mossy Bloke!

I've got a Rossi snub.
They are sort of the typical South American ripoff of winning US design. Looks suspiciously like a S&W 36, huh?

They build a decent, low-priced revolver. Never had any problem with mine, got around 750 rounds through it and I got it used.

Those who "dis" the Rossi's have usually never owned, shot, or held them.

I'd say a screaming good deal would be $150. I'd go as high as 2 bills. You'll probably wind up somewhere in between.

Let us know how it goes.

I have a 92' vintage 85 in stainless and couldn't be happier.
It was 260 "new". It shoots and carries great. I've seen a few of the newer models that I wouldn't touch.

Dry fire it a little and see how it feels.

I'd offer $150 for the revolver. That would be a good deal since they aren't going for that much more new.

Those all steel Taurus .38s are pretty nice.

$125-$150 would be a fair price.:)
