Gun dream, not a nightmare.

I had a dream the other night that I was in this old man's house and he was telling me old war stories and giving me advice on life and shooting. After a while he took me to his basement and showed me a veritable arsenal in a closet. He had beautiful customs hunting rifles, old mil-surps in pristine condition, modern military arms and a few Scout conversions of SMLEs. I stared in amazement and then he told me to take my pick of his rifles.

When I asked him why he was doing this he told me that he was getting old and wouldn't be around much longer, and that he wanted his "queens" to go to someone who would appreciate them.

Looking over all the beautful rifles, I picked up one of the SMLEs that had been scouted and told the man that I would like to take it. The old man said that I had made a good choice and that he thought it was his best rifle, he had customized it himself and it had been with him on many adventures.

I asked him who he was and he said, "Well son, some people call me Colonel, but you can call me Jeff."

I woke up really dissapointed.
