Just thinking out loud. When was the last time we got together for a shoot? Would a Sunday shoot work for anyone any time soon? I'm thinking maybe the first Sunday in May (May 1st). It should still be nice enough out for an outdoor range, less rain than April, warm, but not yet hot and not too humid yet.

We haven't done the range in Frederick yet. It is only open to the public in the morning though. If we wanted an afternoon shoot again, then Westminister seems to be pretty popular so I'd be happy there. In May I'm pretty sure there aren't any hunting seasons coming up so I don't think we'd have as much competition as in the Fall.

Let me know what you think.

I won't be able to do that one as I'll be down in WV working on the cabin.

If anyone is interested, I think DelayedReaction and I might be going to Westmonster this Sunday (4-17) so he can try out some rifles....probably try to get there early so that I can still get some work done around the house that afternoon

If I don't have to go in to work to get some things done I could probably make a run out to Westminister this Sunday. I should know later in the week if I'll have to go in or not. What time were you planning on going to the range?

Hmm....property in WV? How much space do you have?

I usually try to get there by around 9:30am so that we can get a bench for the 10:00 start time.....

We just bought 11 acres in southwestern WV.....waiting for the paperwork to get here now.

11 acres? Is that enough to set up a shooting range? :D

it's a terrible time for me -- finals/graduation. i'll be free after the 2nd week in may.

The first two people to post can't do the first Sunday in May and I wasn't really thinking about it when I posted that, but I can't do that day either :o , it is Passover. How about the second Sunday in May? That would be May 8th.

Normally, I'd say that 11 acres isn't enough....however, there are no people for a couple of miles in 3 directions and our property sits in a depression that covers the 4th direction. Therefore, I don't see any problems with it.

There's 30 acres for sale across the road and I'm going to try and get some people together to purchase that parcel as well.

So far no one can do the first Sunday of May (including me, I wasn't paying attention when I first posted- that is during Passover :o ).

So I'm now working with Sunday, May 8th. How does that look for everyone?

Sundays (at least Sunday mornings) are really bad for me - there's a USPSA or 3Gun match almost every Sunday 'round here.

Sunday afternoons are good. I'm usually warmed up from the match. :D

Sorry, I'll be in Idaho on May 8th to see my yet to be born niece. Seems like there is something going on just about every weekend these days. Hopefully we can get together soon though.

OK, looks like there is little interest for the first half of May. How about the 3rd Sunday of May (May 15th)?

If Spot77 and I aren't hacking brush on my mountain land, I should be good!

Ahhhh...

Another shoot!

When and where, and what to bring...

Those are the questions!

I think it will be Sunday, May 15th. Time isn't yet determined. The weather should be good in mid-May so I'd like another outdoor range shoot before the weather gets too hot- they allow both pistols and rifles, and they cost less than indoor ranges. I'm thinking the Frederick range if we go in the morning, or the Westminister range if we go in the afternoon. The club that opens its range in Frederick on weekends actually changes the targets for you. The downside is you have to buy their targets, the upside is more social time during a ceasefire.

So I'm now working with Sunday, May 8th. How does that look for everyone? FYI, that's Mother's Day.

Frederick's a little too far from my place. If you guys do anything East of Baltimore I'll have to see if I can make it.

I'm good for anything. Finals are coming up, but why should that stop me? :D

It looks like I'll be in town after all so maybe I can make it :)

I'll probably bring the FAL and the CZ452 for sure along with the USP and Mil-Spec.45. If Spot77 doesn't come, maybe I can bring his AR

Sunday May 15 works for me, if Hap Baker's isn't too crowded. (anybody know what it's like this time of year?)

Westminster is a fine drive, Fredrick is a bit long for me... YMMV :D

In the rifle category i've got the following I can bring:

M1903A3 CMP Remington
M1 Garand CMP H&R
K31
Savage 10FP .308
AR-180B .223
DSA STG58A FAL

Carbines include:

Winchester 94 Trapper .357
Universal Carbine .30
Kel-Tec Sub-2000

and... (dang, I know I'm forgetting something. I'm sure I'll remember it later.)

I wish I could make it, but I need to have my nose to the grindstone until the 20th.after that i'll be interrested in just about anything though. I need to make up for not being able to shoot for the last couple months. :)

Don't know about Sunday, but I'm heading over to Continental Arms tomorrow mid-morning (Saturday the 14th). I've got a new Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit for a Glock 17 I want to try out.

I hear there's a show in Westminster this weekend as well.

Best to all.

I won't be able to go for the next couple weeks at least. But I'm good for later in May or just about any time in June or July. I have finals this coming week and am going to buy an SKS the following week so I'll definitely want to get out to Hap Baker sometime soon.

Sorry I couldn't make it on the 15th guys. I found out at the last minute that some family members were coming in from out of town, and I had to put in some hours at work, so combined that didn't leave any time for me to go shooting. Did anyone make it there?

I'd still love to do a rifle shoot at an outdoor range before it gets too hot (good thing we've had a mild spring thus far, usually we are already getting near summer weather by now).
