I got my 2 M-44s that I ordered from FAC guns today. It is so cool to have guns delivered right to your door (C&R FFL).

They are in good shape with nice bores. They were loaded with Comosline and I didn't want to have to spend hours degreaseing them so I took them to the local do-it-yourself car wash. I used the hot water soap spray and it did a great job of getting the grease off it. Only took about 15 mins and $2.00 worth of quarters and it was done. Took them staight home and disasembled them and oiled them.

I like the look and feel of these guns. They are a nice size and not overly muzzle heavy, my Turk Mauser is way too long and heavy to shoot offhand, your arms get tired after a while.

I just had two come in today myself. They were from J&G one $79.00 no cosmoline, in arsenal wrap and looked like new. The other $49 looked like crap, coated in cosmoline. I'll stick with the little bit more expensive versions. Did put a Montecarlo stock on the cheap one looking better now.

I paid $42 but if I was going to buy another one, I would buy one of the ones that have been cleaned up some. It is so much work to get that grease off that I would gladly pay extra. I think I want one that was new or close to new and hasn't been soaked in grease for 50 years.

I am still waiting on my Yugo SKSs. I hope they are not as bad as the M-44s. I don't want to spend another 6 hrs cleaning them.

Firestar- you're looking at this all wrong, cleaning cosmo is part of the rituals performed by crufflers to appease the handselect gods.

Do not offend them lest ye be subjected to sewer pipe bore or other afflictions.

Just wipe off a litte cosmo on a rag and tie it around your face wilst perusing SGN or gunbroker.com. Soon you'll associate the smell with good things.
