If no one makes a specific one I imagine Tool Tech can install a set in the Mk II sights. I had them do that for me with a H&K P9S. Price wasn't that bad, I think been a few years ago.

Odd that this thread isn't getting any play. I was thinking that half the people on this board had a Ruger Mk. II.
Yeah Billy, I guess that is one route to go, but I remember seeing night sights somewhere but don't have the time right now to look for them.

Oh, I'm sure half the people here have Mk IIs, but it doesn't sound like night sights are a popular option... :)

Another idea along the lines of what Billy suggested is have Trijicon's "custom shop" Tooltech drill and insert lamps into your sights. (hang onto your wallet!)

My first reaction was:

"Why would I spend good money to put night sights on a .22 plinker/target pistol?"

That is probably why you are not getting much play.

Well, if I have to explain it to you, then you probably wouldn't understand. This would mainly apply to people from the East and people who live in cities.

1) Shooting jackrabbits at night
2) See #1

I was just trying to point out why you were probably not getting many answers. Just pointing out that few people probably have a need for the setup you are asking about.

Oh, yes, I saw your last post before you edited it. :neener:

444, the only problem I see is that the only people whose night sights I have had good service from is Trijicon and Mepolight. Meprolight (imported by Kimber) doesn't list anything for a MkII and I have never dealt with them on drilling for tubes. Trijicon (ToolTech) I have dealt with several times and I can't say enough good things about there work.

No we don't have jack rabbits in NC. We do have ground hogs, of course they will not let you get close enough to get a pistol shoot off. Anyway let me know what you find out I think it is a neat idea. Hmmm racoons are night critters...

Well, I figured if you were in Texas that you were well aware of shooting jackrabbits at night.

In the East we wouldn't be shooting Jackrabbits at night (or any other time), but we would be popping Coons out the trees at night.

I'd second the vote for Tool Tech (the people who insert Trijicons). I think their direct number is 248-628-1811 and I think the helpful gent I spoke to was named Dan.

Before investing the money in night sights, I'd try a $30 BSA dot sight from Walmart.

Baxter: thanks for the input but that isn't what I am looking for. I am not real big on BSA or WalMart and I paid more than $30 for the holster.
The gun in question is an AAC Phoenix (integrally suppressed Ruger Mk.II) http://www.advanced-armament.com/products/rimfire/phoenixp.asp
I haven't taken it home yet, but it is in at my dealers: I am waiting on the tax stamp from ATF. So far I bought the matching "Phoenix" holster (the gun isn't the standard size with the suppressed barrel)http://www.advanced-armament.com/products/fullpic.asp?pic=pholster , and a set of Chrimson Trace laser grips (for night shooting): No squirrel or pop can is safe.
I just thought a set of night sights might be icing on the cake.

Aw crap: I just checked my link and realized that AAC offers night sights from the factory. :banghead:
I wonder if I can send it back and get them installed ?

The only problem is that they offer IWI night sights. If my memory doesn't fail me that was the company that makes or imports PT night sights. I have used PT night sights before, so dim they were hardly visible, failed very soon. As I remember Arizona Response Systems had a write up as to how bad PT night sights were. They might have improved but I am trying to save you the money I had to spend when I in total frustration had all the night sights on my Glocks switched from PT to Trijicon.

I suppose I could remove the sights from the gun and send them in to get drilled like that.
I don't know how easy it would be for me to send an NFA weapon to them whole.

Actually all you would send would be the slide. That is the way I have done it on the other stuff I have sent to Tool Tech.

Well, on the Ruger Mk. II, there is no slide per se. There is the receiver with the barrel attached and the bolt goes in it. So, the barrel, receiver, and sights are all one piece. And, in this case, the suppressor is integral so that goes with it.
