Should I buy a Beretta EII 96 in .40?

I found a used EII 96 Beretta in excellent condition. I have one in 9mm. I can't decide why I need one in .40...

If there were something like 13 rd .40 cal mags available, that would justify it more, but I'm having a hard time with the size efficiency of a handgun that large that only holds 10 rds of .40.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Steve

No, wait for the G-SD or get a Vertec IA!

You can use the same mags bla bla bla.

Berettas in .40 are just missing something. Kind of like 1911s in .40. IMO and my stinky O only.

I'm not a fan of the 40 s&w round, so I'd say no, stay away from the 96. But, if you plan to swap a 357sig barrel in it...then by all means, get it & tell us how well the conversion works. I like the 357 sig far more than the 40 & I've been trying to figure out which platform to go with :)

the 96 is the softest shooting and most accurate .40 i have ever handled (sig 229,glock 22,eaa witness)

if i had a 92, and the mags to go with it, i might think much as you do...that the beretta is way too big. but, the biggest advantage for me, in CA, is that i can get 10rd mags for about $20 and i'm only giving up one round to the pre-ban factory mags.

if you compete, the .40 would allow you to shoot "major"
