I'm a firearms enthusiast as well as an aspiring 3d modeler (computer graphics). I'm looking for some blueprints or technical drawing of specific firearms to aid me in their modeling. Problem is, I have no idea where to find any.

I tried looking on Amazon for some books but came up empty.

Electronic format perfered (.bmp, .jpg, etc...) but I could always scan them in myself.

Any help would be appreciated.

The specific firearms I'm looking for are: (can you guess what era I'm interested in?)

Browning m1917 BAR
Thompson m1928
Remington Model 8
Winchester 1907
Springfield m1903
Ithaca 37
Winchester m1897
Browning Auto 5
Colt Police Positive Special
Colt Detective Special
Colt Official Police
Colt m1903
S&W model 1908
S&W model 20 .38/40 heavy duty
Colt m1911

You can probably start looking here.

There are some blueprints at the bottom. Most of them are newer/modern ones.

Try the Free Arms Project (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/free-arms/) - an attempt to create an "open source gun", a simple design free of legal encumberances. (May not be much activity there.)

I've got blueprints for the Thompson and BAR receivers. Email me if you want copies.
