A country station in Atlanta is giving their DJs the option of playing Dixie Chicks songs or not this weekend.

I'm getting a pretty big response on the petition. 844 people so far. I hope this isn't the work of some lone pathetic loser with no time on their hands.

What's the point? She already offered her half-hearted appology... I'm pretty sure that's all we're gonna get.

Just for kicks, I'll include an e-mail correspondent with a person. What do you guys think??
=======================
Thank you. I loved the dixie chicks before that opened their mouth and
showed their ignorance. My daughter & I bought tickets for their concert in
August, but guesss what we are trying to sell them. If we can't sell them we
will burn them in a public place. How about arranging a public burning of
their concerts? They will never see another penny of my money. I also have
their cd's that I would like to burn in public. Can you organize a "Dixie
Chicks public burning?
Thanks,
Sandy Hopkins
====================================
Hi,
I'm not if I would condone burning their CD. Take a deep breath, and
think about it carefully. Burning a CD may be symbolic, but I consider it
to be a trendy kind of thing. How would your daughter react to you
burning things in public? Of course, this is your decision to make,
but I will not organize a public burning. Reminds me too much
of what happened in WWII with Hitler. Instead of burning the CDs,
just store it away. Don't get swept away by the public perception.
Also, the Dixie Chicks did not insult the president, Natalie Maine did.
Keep in mind that she is no communist. She just happened to
say the wrong things at the wrong time. She admitted to her mistake,
so I think you've done your part. Thanks
Sincerely,
-Yohan

I appreciate your point of view. They have lost a fan. Store their cd's
away, never. I never want to hear their voice again. The tickets will be
sold or burned. They will never see a penny of my money. My daughter is 30
yrs old and shares the same view as me about this matter. Thanks again for
the petition.
==========================================
Hi,
I thought your daughter was young, maybe like six or seven, hehe.
As for the tickets and the CDs, I must once again ask you to
reconsider. While burning the items may sound symbolic, I think it
is an uncivilized and primitive protest method practiced by dictators
and crazy christians. Why not save the CD so that your grand children
in the future may hear you tell the story? Just another option I'm offering
you, but it seems like you've got your mind set on burning things.
Sincerely,
Yohan
============================================
uncivilized? Smybolic? Pleassssssssssssse!!! Not only the Dixie Chicks but
any other so called entertainer that speaks crap about the president and
this country will never see my money or support. I would be glad to
contribute money for a one way trip out of this great country for any of
their sorry butts. I hope my grandchildren will never know who the dixie
chicks WERE. I am sorry that I signed your petition because it really means
nothing now.
===========================================
Hey,
I consider it pretty uncivilized to burn items because of hatred. Wouldn't
you be offended if someone took your family picture and burnt it in public?
Why do you think the public looks down on flag burning? I agree with you
that no one should speak against the president. Like I said, I was simply
expressing my opinions, and you can feel free to burn your CDs.
Why stop there? Spend your life savings in buying all of their CDs and burn
them as well! I guess you've become the official spokesperson for the
Anti-Natalie Maines club, right? Think about how civil you're being as you
watch the CDs burning. Uncle Sam would be proud of you for burning
CDs in a barrels. Hey, here's an idea. You alraedy signed the damn
petition so you got your idea across. Now, try joining the Red Cross.
Go out to your community and do volunteer work. If you're already doing
that, you could start a community project and invite all the local children to
burn CDs with you. :-)

Has anyone out there ever heard how C&W music sounds when sung in ARABIC?
Do they even have RADIOS in the desert?
Maybe the CHICKS could get together with HANOI JANE & BABS and do a concert for the ENEMY!
We could all pool our money and buy front row seats for SADAM & OSAMA and as a special treat to top off the concert we could have a special appearance by the B52s!
And a great time would be had by ALL!
