I'm on the verge of buying one of these two.

Do you like the .357Sig? Ballistically, it looks good on paper.

They are both very different in the way that they shoot and recoil in the hand. I highly, highly recommend you shoot both before you put your money on one. The .357 is gaining quite a following in the LEO community. And the .45 is well the .45....the good 'ole American Standard;)

By the way I don't think the USP fullsize comes in .357 only in Compact. I would think the USP .357 Compact would be one snappy pistol to shoot though.

You can always pick up a .40S&W fullsize, and a .357SIG barrel.

I highly recommend the Usp compact in .45 acp.
The compacts are more ergonomic than the full-size, and the .45 compact is a tiny bit bigger than the smaller compacts.
Just the right size.
The .45 will be easier to shoot because of the slow push instead of snappy recoil. (Lowest pressure round vs. highest pressure round.)

go with the uspc in 357 SIG small and fast .if you have the need for big and slow you can go .40 s&w. the full size has problems trying to get the 357 SIG to feed.you can get 1160 out of a ,40 s&w 180 with long shot powder.

Compared to .357Sig, .45 offers a huge number of loadings and weights from soft target loads to the .45 Super that the USPf will fire without mods. You can also buy Wolf .45 for $8 some places.

.357 is always going to be a more costly, less flexible round to buy and load.

Just FYI, the barrel swap 40 to 357sig conversion DOES NOT work in te fullsize USP. Try a search over on hkpro.com. The topic has been covered pretty well.
Now, unless you can get LE mags, you will be limited to 10 round mags in the USPc 357. The USPc 45 is an 8 rounder. The 2 extra rounds is an issue to some. Honestly don't think you would do poorly w/ either. Both are accurate, reliable & lots of fun to shoot.

Can't say about the HK but I can certainly say about the 357SIG in a SIG P226.

My new gun arrived mid-February. I've sent 400 rounds down range since then. This is my new favorite round - bar none.

As noted earlier - you should shoot both rounds out of the gun you want to buy for a good comparision.

I went from my 1911 in .45ACP to a .38 Super 1911 years ago. I feel I'm retired from the 1911's now.
