Are there some models of this built with a special prize inside?

The reason I ask is I stopped by a shop in a small town this afternoon and he had one in the display for $799. Asked him what was so special about it and he told me it was a very hard to get model and he has a high demand for them.

BTW it was this model...

111BP (http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?model=111BP&category=Pistol)

MSRP for it is $422...

Maybe the poor shop owner has some really high overhead expenses  The sad part is that one day, somebody will come and pay that price.

I would hate to see what he would ask for the titanium version with its retail of $508

Never go to that shop again. They have lost all touch with reality.

Wow, MSRP is only $422? What do you think a good shop would sell one for?

I just bought a gun last week and I'm already thinking about another one. I've got a .45 and a .40 but I'm thinking 9mm. :D

Bud's Gun Shop has the brand new for $247. That's where I'll be buying mine from.

Anyone have any expierience with these?

I'm looking for a new carry gun and the choices I'm working between are the Steyr S9 and CZ RAMI in 9mm.
Another option is possible if its a good gun. My only expierience with Taurus was with a chromed out 940 with the loosest frame to slide fit I've ever felt. The rear sight kept sliding out of its mount and caused me to wonder why my shots consistently pulled farther and farther to the right.
The gun went bang everytime, but its owner was unkind to it.

they have a very looong trigger. smooth, not heavy, but long. its a better DAO trigger than anyother ive felt but it is very long. i wouldnt consider that a disadvantage especially in a carry gun. i would recomend any taurus, it will serve you well. i will be getting a millenium pro soon to go along with my pt 24/7
