A local shop has the Thunder 45 NIB for $280, is it worth it? I am looking for a carry and "beater" handgun. It is the cheapest price I have seen so far for one. The only drawback I see is that it has the "pimp" embellished gold enhancements. These "enhancements" in all probability would get some black paint. The closest I have seen was $390 for an all blue one.

Yep, in my opinion it's worth it. Just get a dremel and buff off the "gold".

I just got the Bersa Mini Firestorm .45 last week and have put 200 rounds thru it. Accuracy was par with the 3.25" barrel. It feels great in my hands and follow up shots are a breeze. Personally, I like this little pistol. It will never take the place of the Kimber I carry, but will work fine for the house.

Ive never heard of the frame cracking or anything bad about them. In fact every thing I read, their as well liked as the 380 .

I had one. Shot it 500 times I guess. Worked good. No problems. Nice carry size and weight.

I use a Bersa Thunder 45 for a car/carry gun and I recommend it. Mine is compact, lightweight, accurate, reliable, and inexpensive. I have over 1,000 rounds through mine and I don't think it has ever bobbled. I admit I carry 230gr JHP standard velocity ammo as I do not see the need for +P. Regards, Richard :D
