Was at the gun store yesterday to get a shotty and while there the guy says "Have a look at this." A Taurus Gaucho in .45LC. Now I already have a .45LC but thought I'd take a look. I didn't even know they made this revolver.
Wow.
Feels great! 4 click hammer, great balance, and the trigger's so smooth it feels like it's packed in butter. It really was the smoothest factory trigger I've ever felt. Lock up was as tight as fort knox. If you like the single actions at least take a look at one.
How could I just leave it there all alone and unloved? *sigh* Now I've got to wait at least a week before I can get it to the range!
Heres an article with pics.

Now all you need is one of their new Thunderbolt Rifles (Colt Lightning copy) to go with it.

I'd love to have a "Thunderbolt", Taurus has been promising them for over a year and they still aren't available.

Yes but they are now officially in the new 2005 catalogue that debuted last week. :)
I have a sneaking suspicion that it's a joint venture with Beretta since they have also announced a Lightning copy that as I recall is being made in Brazil.
Now what are the odds of TWO different factories in Brazil producing a Lightning rifle?

I've handled 2 of the Gaucho's and I think they're going to be great pistols! Let us know how it handles at the range!
I thought Beretta's Gold Rush was being made in Italy by Uberti which stands to reason as both Uberti and Beretta are part of the same company now.
From the pictures the Beretta looks like an actual copy and the Taurus looks like an upscaled M62 dressed like a Lightening. We'll see since neither has hit the market yet.

One of the early images I saw of the rifle I could see a notch in the top edge of the receiver where the bolt locks like the 62. I don't see that in these images. Either way it's good for us! More options! :D

A gaucho is a South American cowboy.
Since the Taurus is made in Brazil, and Brazil is located in South America, I think it's appropriate.
Especially when you consider that Colt has already trademarked the name Cowboy for one of it's single action revolvers.
