How do you CCW while riding? And what do you carry?
Me, nothing says freedom than riding my Volusia 800 and having a .45 and 2 clips in my shoulder holster.

I can tell you how one guy I saw on a gold wing on the interstate carried. On his ankle, with his pants leg pulled up, flapping in the breeze. I bet he doesn't get cut off often.

IWB, with t- shirt, and vest. Been stpooed by OK Highway Patrol, and they threw fit because I didn't tell him. Hey, it's his turf, but I told him since I'm an LEO, I don't usually tell when stopped.

I always wear a jacket, so I either carry a 1911 in a shoulder holster (rare) or I just carry a small gun, like my AMT Backup 45ACP or Bersa 480 in a front pocket.

Usually a Glock 23 in a shoulder holster. I wear a heavy enough jacket that you can not see an outline.

IWB at 4:00 or so. A good "long" sized jacket or vest covers pretty good. IAlso wear a leather shirt untucked if its just kind of cool. I recently found a vest with large cargo type leather pockets thats perfect for my Kimber Ultra Carry or Kahr P9 in a pocket holster. If its smokin hot I can fit a small revolver in my Road Glide glove compartment in easy reach and holster up at stops. Just shop your bike gear with carry in mind.

Using the gun pocket of my mc jacket. Yes, that's the exact description used in the catalog. My shopping was very easy that day.

And what do you carry?
I root around in the top shelf of the safe, and whatever I grab is what I carry on that particular ride.

Nothing says freedom (more) than riding my Volusia 800...
Just wondering if your freedom is compromised by a helmet law. Mine isn't.

Usually carry a Kimber TLEII IWB under the Joe Rocket jacket. Don't do the shoulder rig because it's too hard to access if needed.

I've got a 96 Honda Magna.

I used to carry in a shoulder holster, but I discovered that it takes a while to get the jacket unzipped and the gun out. I have since gone to OWB carry. In fact, you can see the bottom of the holster (inexpensive Uncle Mikes just for riding.) if you look close enough. It normally rides high enough but if I'm stopped, you can see something hanging out under the jacket.

Just curious, how many people have considered the size of their trigger guard? My Fn Forty-Nine has a big one, but some guns aren't so well endowed. My gloves also have armor on the fingers, so it makes them pretty fat.

I ride fingerless gloves most of the year here in Ga. Also good for picking bugs from nose and teeth.

Usual OWB, fingerless gloves too. Main cover is Smith & Alexander denim vest - light enough to use even in summer. If leather over that no probs either, except for easy access.

Always the thought of gun damaging me in a spill - but have to risk that.

If it's colder I can wear my IWB pretty much as normal, but in hot weather I usually just carry a .357 snubbie in the trunk ('01 Honda Valkyrie Interstate).

man i am not that brave.
i have condsidered carrying on some of my late night trips to SF, but ehh, it's just not really me (yet), besides the incredible illegality of it here.
on most rides, since im not goin anywre i could forsee needing a weapon, im more concerned what would happen if i wiped and landed on it, not so much it would go off, but that hunk of metal could hurt me in the wrong spot.

I haven't found a way to LEGALLY carry on my bike in Ohio, short of Open Carry. I really don't like that idea because of all of the unwanted attention it attracts. By law it must be "holstered, on my person, and in plain sight". I have a nice "gun pocket" like earlier mentioned, inside my Hein Gericke leather jacket, that fits my Kahr PM40 perfectly. UNFORTUNATELY, by the letter of the law I can't carry it there.... so .... to date I haven't carried on my bike at all. I'm trying to talk all of my fellow Ohio shooting friends to also get their CCW license and hopefully with enough people also carrying the laws will be eventually changed to something more reasonable.

I ride a 1949 HD Shovel/Pan. I carry a Taurus 450 on my left ankle and sometimes an AMT 380 Backup in a leather lined inner pocket in my jacket.

Inside pocket of Levis Jean Jacket Vest.

Levis jean jackets have a "hand warmer" style pocket which is sewed all the way around (sides and bottom)on the inside of the jacket except for at the top. Kinda hard to describe, go look at one next time you are in the store.

I just drop my G36 and a Fobus paddle holster into this "inside pocket" and am ready to go. I installed a couple of snaps in the top of the pocket and on the paddle and secure the holster in the pocket that way.

i ride a '99 Harley fatboy, and i either just throw something in the saddlebags or carry a small gun IWB at about 11 o'clock. large guns don't fit here well for long rides, and frontal IWB doesn't work for everyone. it is one of the CCW methods that is possible to access with either hand if neccessary, but requires a jacket or vest for cover. here in MT, concealed carry is legal for everyone legal to own guns outside of city limits, bars, post offices, ect.

So we have improper gloves AND helmet. You carry your gun for safety but ride without proper protection. You do realize that you are more FAR more likely to crash your bike than to actually need your gun...right?

I wear fingerless gloves AND no helmet. Have since I started riding 35 years ago ( give or take). If I get dead as a consequence of my own choices, that's all on me. However, I carry a gun or three so I *have* a choice to defend myself and mine from some SOB that would make that choice for me.
