apparently this guy designed the Tec-9 and all of the later Intratec derrivatives. http://uss001.infi.net/denver/post/news/shot0801.htm
More recently he's been the designer behind Kel-Tec and the Grendal P-10, P-12, P-30 (the 30 round .22 magnum) all of which were really innovative but didn't work too well on the whole.

But now he's on to the more successful P-11 and P32.

guy has a flare for naming his weapons:
AB-10 ("After Ban" Tec-9)
Kel-Tec P-3AT (.380 version of the P32 to be released in May)

i guess i can understand why the guy wouldn't want to bring too much attention to himself for fear of linking his current work with the anti's propaganda surrounding his previous works (i could be wrong, the "Tec" of "Kel-Tec" linking it to the Tec-9). still that's pretty cool, has this guy should be interviewed in some of the gun rags (has he?).

will he be the next gaston glock or sam colt? (though certainly not JMB)

but you have to admit he gets some really neat ideas and brings them to the light of day. I've been a big fan ever since I bought my Grendel P-12, now that's one UGLY pistol.

"In 1984, Kellgren left the business. Garcia's father entered, renaming the corporation Intratec Firearms and the KG-99 the TEC-9. Four years later, Carlos Garcia took over Intratec and created a new umbrella company, Navegar Inc. Under his direction, Navegar became known for its provocative - some say reprehensible - promotion of Intratec's TEC-9s."

How much credibility should be given to an article that can't even get the name right?

In any event, I think George Kelgren is a design and entrepreneural genius.

A different question plagues Tom Mauser. His 15-year-old son asked it one April evening. "Dad,'' Daniel said, "did you know there were loopholes in the Brady bill?''
Daniel was a bright sophomore on the Columbine High debate team. He liked to discuss important social issues. That night he explained that the 1994 federal law requiring criminal background checks of gun buyers applies only to sales involving licensed gunstore owners. It does not apply to private transactions involving unlicensed vendors at gun shows.

That's where I stopped skimming. The real "loophole" is between leftist extremists' ears. They blame everyone and everything for crime but criminals.

I know next to nothing about Kelgren but have to agree that the P11 and P32 are a success. I own one of each and am very happy with them. They are NOT cheap - just inexpensive. I think that if Kelgren is the guy behind these guns (which I believe he is based on everything I have read) then he is a genius. Quality guns at affordable prices. I plan on getting a sub 2000 soon.

See the following for LOTS more opinions on the Kel-Tec line of guns.
