Yesterday as I was leaving work(a mental Hosp.)there were cops all over the place....turns out there was an inmate going for tests at the hospital right next to our place..he escaped from a holding area and made it to our parking garage, where he tried to car jack a nurse(from our place)to take him for a ride..she said she didn't have enough gas to take him anywhere,so he said he had a gun(he didn't)..she still refused and he took off...so anyway as I'm leaving they do a car and trunk search on everyone..I of course have ammo and shot up targets in my trunk..they didn't look twice(just glad they didn't see some convict in there I imagine.....about an hour later they find him in a nearby home..no one hurt..he gives up peacefully....turns out he's doing 21 to life for murder.....kind of scary, being that I can't carry at work because it's a state run facility(thanks NY)....
So today Italk to our security guys and find out that SWAT was here too,in full tactical glory..Albany PD,corrections and everyone else they get on the radio...then they tell me they found a speed loader in our garage..and ask if it's mine(it wasn't)..probably a co's (the only one's who carry revos.)
all I can think of is I'm actually kind of glad I didn't have a gun in my trunk..the PD may have been a little concerned.....OTOH....being un armed sucks.........just another fun filled day at the psych hospital... :uhoh:

I'll wait for the officials to say 'citizens don't need guns to protect themselves'. Sure then why the SWAT etc.

I'll wait for the officials to say 'citizens don't need guns to protect themselves'

Does that mean they think cops are not citizens?

Gotta love the times union... I've had poor experiences with them and thier reporters before. I'm glad to see that they rounded this fella up though. Thankfully no one was hurt and there weren't any major shoot outs.
