Folks,
My nephew is going on his second tour...2nd of the 327th, 101st Airborne...he feels that someone has to go back to help try and bring this thing to a more satisfactory progression. He feels that he needs to be in it for the long haul as this "war" is going to take a while. His on the ground assessment from the last tour kind of warned us that there was a lot of stuff that needed building and rebuilding before the Iraqis could be independent and have a decent chance to make a success of democracy.
There is a lot of young American people who feel the same way.
Bless them all.

God bless 'em all. We don't say it enough--they're putting it all on the line to make things better.

Tell him this old infantry soldier says "Thank you."

Regards,
Lance

Nephew's a good man. Thank him for us all.

The Corps just sent the first unit back for its THIRD tour. Man, these youngsters will be old before me!

This former jarhead, who had ringside seats for Round 1, has one very good friend in that cute little jump-outta-a-perfectly-good-airplane Division, a couple of good friends with the 1st Intelligence Battalion, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, and a best friend with the Defense Intelligence Agency who will all soon be there as well (within a couple weeks of each other, can you believe that??), and wishes your nephew good hunting. Thank him for me.
