MagTech Ammo?

is MagTech ammo anny good?Specificaly their "Blue Line" ammo?

I've used MagTech .38 spl at the range through a Taurus snubnose rental; I didn't run into any problems with it.

Yup. I've had very good luck with Magtech in .380, .38, .357 and .44 mag. I use their bullets for reloading for .357 and .44 mag and took a nice deer with one of their .44 mag, 240gr JSP last year. Good stuff and pleasantly affordable.

I was just wondering because i saw that they use Nickel plated brass. i like nickel plated brass. :) i realy dont mind that the case life is a bit shorter, becuase i dont reload as of yet anyhoo. i also noticed that they are CHEAP! Even cheaper than Yee Olde Seller & Bellot by about 50 cents a box.

Anyone else have comments?

I have used (burned, as in $$$$'s) a fair bit of their 44 mag ... been very pleased with it. Considering I reload (or should get back to the .44's) - that says something re value and performance. I like it and so does my 629, SRH and Marlin 94! :p :)

Sounds good! ill have to pick up some of their 158gr JSP ammo and see how my gun likes it.

Never had any problems with their .45 ACP other than it seems to be dirtier than other brands I've used.

picked up some 357 158grjsp. from Gander Mtn for $10.99. Only problem was I just got one box. Went back for more, and they were out!

Our ammo rep turned me on to Magtech about two years ago and so far I haven't had any problems with it. It is a little dirty, but I don't mind.

I have shot Mag-tech in .357, .45ACP and .45 Colt. Good stuff at reasonable price point.

A bit "spendier" than say WWB or Remington's UMC, but worth it, IMHO

My practice ammo in all of my 9mm and .45 handguns is MagTech ball. I switched to buying it by the case after having multiple squibs from a case of Fiocchi. After roughly 4, 000 rounds of MagTech between the two calibers I've been very pleased with the price and performance.

Iv been hearing such things about Fiocchi ammo lately...mainly that there shotgun ammo has cruddy pellets.

There is a major aftermaket mfg. that has been running thousands of rounds of MagTech thru their test pistols for years. Their head of testing says it's because it's cheap reliable and good ammo. Brass reloads well too.

I really like MagTech. It's becoming my favorite .45 range ammo because it seems to be reasonably priced and consistantly accurate.

Some may think it's a bit on the dirty side, but after shooting PMC it seems downright clean to me! :p

i used to shoot pmc's and winchester's white box. i have a friend that works in a gun shop and he can get me magtech ammo at around $4.00 a box so one day i was short on cash ( like always :( ) and he wanted to check out a new gun and i got a box of magtech and really liked them. so now thats what i use to kill paper :) , he also get's me speer gold dots for protection for only $10.00 a box of 50 :cool: , it's nice to have a friend in a gun shop.

I've used their .45LC cowboy loads and their 230gr. .45ACP loads and they have been great....no problems at all. :p

No problems here. I have probably shot 400 or so in .45 ACP. Lead and Jacketed. Their brass is good for reloading too. The Guardian Gold 185+p is stout stuff.

I've used the .357 magnum Magtech's. No problems, just a little dirtier.

No problems in 9mm and .45 ACP. It seems to be loaded a little warmer than Blazer, WWB, ect.

Magtech is about the cheapest good stuff that is factory new (not reloads) that is available. If you have a buddy at a gun shop that will order it for you, RSR does not charge shipping on case purchases of their ammo, including Magtech. Wholesale cost is cheaper than WWB last time I checked.

No problem with .40 or .380 ACP..........

I shot a few boxes of 454Casull before I got my set of reloading dies and liked it, and the brass has been reloading fine. Jim.

I've shot their .357 SJHP through my Rossi lever action, and it loves it. Great Stuff!

Didn't Magtech make some new kind of loading for the .380 that had three pieces of shot inside of some kind of frangible bullet? I am NOT taking about a bird/snake shot load. This was intended to create a more effectice defensive load. I was interested if anyone knew anything about how these loads worked out.

I've shot it in 9mm and it worked well for me. I haven't had an opportunity to shoot it in my .45 1911 yet.

I wasn't familiar with MagTech until 6 months ago. Our local LE supplier/Gun store started stocking it at $10.50/box (.45). I grabbed a couple of boxes and as soon as I banged that 100th cartridge, I went back for more.

Picked up 5 boxes on my last visit and performance is very consistent. Accuracy (out of my USP45 Tactical) is great and I find it fairly clean burning.

Also ran some through my wife's .380 without a hiccup.

I'll venture to say it is the best range ammo out there.
