Hard Chrome on a S&W 13...who?

Am thinking about buying a S&W model 13, four inch from a co-worker. it has some light rust...was thinking if i get it to send it off to have it hard chromed...who out there does good work these days?
any advice or points in the right direction would be appreciated.

I would send it to Tripp. They are doing the best chroming jobs I have seen.

well, the hard chroming job is off...just picked up what i wanted in the first place...a 3" smith 65...
i have seen tripp's work on P7's...great work

I would use either Virgil Tripp or Ford's Guns, they are both great. Never heard of Ford's Guns? This is my M457 that Ford's hard chromed. Regards, Richard :D

"...picked up what I wanted in the first place..." Good for you. It's always best to get what you want rather than what you can find. In any case, it sounds like the Model 13 wasn't looked after.
As to your original question, you may still want the info, look in the Yellow Pages for a metal finisher. Call 'em and ask if they'll do firearms and how much. Most smithies send that kind of work out anyway.
Hard chrome is a dandy finish, but it doesn't fix neglect. It looks funny on a revolver too.
