1911 style CO2 pistols - anyone make one?

It would appear that Daisy no longer makes one of these (I can't find them on the Daisy site), and Natchez is out of them. Does anyone know if any company still makes a 1911-style CO2 pistol (with all the controls in all the right places and the right dimensions)?
I was hoping to use one to set up a little IDPA practice range in my garage, mainly for working on the draw/first shot and really wanted something that was patterned after the real thing.

Why not try for the airsoft versions instead? Unless you really need a steel BB powered by CO2, the airsoft versions will be much closer to a real 1911 than something made by Daisy. In fact, airsoft IPSC is very popular in Asia.

My original thought was Airsoft, but don't you have to manually cock the Airsofts for each shot? Even though I know that the splits with a CO2 pistol aren't much like splits with the actual .45, I would like to be able to work on multiple target drills to at least practice the qualifiers to some extent (as much as possible without using a real pistol on a real range).

Yes, the cheaper (sub $100) airsofts are single shot... you rack the slide for each shot you want. Once you star spending the big bucks though ($100-300), you find very nice guns that use PC duster that is stored in the magazine to fire the round, and cycle the slide.

I believe I remember selling Crosman CO2 "1911s" about 11 years ago. Is that right? Are they still around?

I recently bought an Airsoft 1911 made by KWC. It's a licenced replica of a Caspian, weighs nearly as much as a real 1911, has a functional ambi safety, and operates nearly identically to a real pistol. Cock the hammer for the first shot, and the recoilling slide cocks it for each subsequent shot. The slide locks back on an empty mag, and the mag release and slide release function just as they should. Heck, taking it apart is done almost the same way as with a real 1911. The gun cost me $79.95 on E-bay, and gas, pellets, and a spare mag for it cost me $40 more at the Indy 1500 today. I'm all set for force-on-force training (more details will be revealed as they become available).

If you want the very best, then the Japanese made "Western Arms" are at the top of the heap. The Taiwanese KWC variety is nothing to scoff at, but it comes nowhere near the accuracy, power, and realism of the WA variety.

What are the airsoft pellets made out of? I'd like to do some budget training in the basement, but don't want to use anything with lead in it (I've already got an elevated blood lead level..).

Airsoft pellets are some sort of hard plastic...and are reusable....They shoot fast enough to puncture most cardboard, so making a collecting trap shouldnt be too hard.
Just a cardboard box lined with an old towel, with cardboard or paper targets taped over the open end.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. The Airsoft stuff sounds like it's come along far enough to be a viable training solution, and not as likely to damage the drywall... :D

Don't be too sure - I have lots of dents in my drywall!
