Does anybody know of a website that I can find this info on. I have always been curious to know what departments carry what. Also what departments carry the gun I own, the P97. If nowbody knows of where to get this info but want to let me know what your department carries that would be cool also. Any help is appreciated!!

Lots of Glocks, Sigs, Berettas, and USP compacts seen around FLETC these days.

Actually, to be accurate, lots of red guns corresponding to those four may be seen around FLETC these days.

it think most of the "police market" has been gobbled up by sig, glock, and beretta. the CA highway patrol still issues a smith (4006) while a tiny department (9 officers) along the river issues the HK USP

Me ? I prefer miniture cake with cocoa-nut coating ($1.57 a box @ Wally world !!!

Issued a G-22, and Winchester RA40 (180gr Ranger SXT).
Most L.E. agencies (60%+) carry Glocks of one flavor or another.

Seems they got there "firstest" with "mostest" when the Semi-auto craze started in the late '80's and '90's.
Glock seems to have won the "marketing strategy" war.
They even beat out S&W in getting out firearms in .40 S&W. The first .40 S&W I ever saw (owned a S&W 1006 at the time) was a Glock mod22 !!

Seems the Glock people were real aggressive at that time. They now seem to have gotten "fat and sassy" too, like S&W, and Colt.

Seems like a lot of officers in my county in MD are carrying sigs. I can never get the model number though as I always get the "why are you looking at my gun" look from the officers. I usually turn away and mind my business after that. I did get into a really nice little conversation with an officer today though. He was a real nice guy. Totally slipped my mind to ask him about his sidearm though, even though I could tell it was also a sig from a quick glance.

10mm.

For some Depts/Agencies that issue or allow carry of a 10mm pistol, click on the link in my Sig.

I was wondering the same thing (original question)! I noticed from the polled results, that the S&W was a close third to the Glock. What are the majority S&W models issued? Or is pretty much the whole S&W product line represented?

My next purchase will be a "service pistol" type in 9mm, so I am rather curious to hear all the L.E. agencies report in.

Do any of you LEO's or an LEO's you know carry a CZ

Thanks!

What I want to know is: do any departments still issue revolvers?

Last I checked, Boss Hog and Roscoe P. Coltrain were still carrying Hog leg revolvers.;)

That was in Hazard county though.

Our dept. issues the P-97DC. Our County sheriffs office Ruger P-944. Nearby city went with Beretta cougar in 45. Sheriffs offices to the west (Grant Co.) is going from Sig to Glocks. County to North S&W Sigmas in 40. County to East is Going to Glock.
