Boycott USA

Yup, boycott the US. It's no longer "American Cheese", it's cheddar. Cheese as in the crap and rhetoric coming out of Washington for the last few months.....
Just DO IT, go to war.....are you friggin SCARED? I thought you were the world's only Superpower, with the mightiest and most technologically advanced fighting force in the world. Why do you need Allies? Should be a walk in the park, right? Except now we are hearing how the troops can't even get ammo for their guns for fear of friendly fire incidents, and how you can't get through the Suez Canal because some stupid Arab countries won't let you. 200000 troops in the region, and you are still waiting. The UN is making you look silly, they seemingly have you by the balls.
Boycott France and Germany, the Dixie Chicks, pretty much all of Hollywood, the UN, 50 percent of America that isn't for war in Iraq. Boycott the environmentalists that are against oil production in the North Slope of Alaska. Boycott Turkey. (Whaddya gonna call "turkeys" now at Thanksgiving, Freedom Birds?) Boycott everyone that opposes the start of WW3. I'm pretty much sick of the States and it's bullsh*t. I'm gonna start boycotting it's crap. Bunch of losers.

Impotent frustration out of the bag?

Very funny... numbers off...

WW III ???????????? Start???

I guess that we started the conflict with Japan when we slapped them with sanctions in the early forties.

I think September 11th changed a few things.

How about that Kyoto treaty?

What country would you prefer to live in?

Guess I'd better jump in here before this one get's shut down...

I agree that things are getting frustrating...on both sides of the fence. I for one wish we had made our move back in October. but no, we had to prepare...make sure our troops are ready to fight. What do we have a standing army for if they aren't ready to go to war...RIGHT NOW?

It's unfortunate that the media gives so much attention to what celebrities say...and it's unfortunate that some parts of our governments are throwing the breaks on, and that some people still want to handcuff us with working under the UN umbrella...look how well that worked the last time.

But, CampX, I like turkey...and despite their statements, I still listen to the Dixie Chicks...and I feel bad for the President. It's not a job you could pay me enough to take. Sometimes, knowing the right answer isn't enough...it's getting people who KNOW their answer is also the right one to believe you that's tough. Look at Jessie Ventura(probably not the best example). He went into office with all kinds of high hopes and goals, and left a broken man, because he couldn't get anything accomplished with a beaurocracy.

But...that same convaluted beaurocracy saved us from feeling the full wrath of the Clinton Years...it could always be worse my friends. Paraphrasing Heinlein....

The difference between good and better is much sharper than the difference between bad and worse...keep that in mind...

um, yeah. Boycott everyone who doesn't agree with The President. That's the American Way, right?

What about renaming it "FREEDOM CHEESE"? :)

I'm a bit confused on the Iraq issue. If a cease fire was signed and one party then violated the cease fire, shouldn't the other party act? So if Sadam violates the cease fire and the UN does nothing, why have a UN? The UN's answer is to make a resolution, yeah that will solve the problem. :barf:

I'm mostly confused as to why we should have a UN if it means nothing to those who refuse to follow its resolutions.

Iraq is a future North Korea in the troubled middle east. A very real enemy to North America.

First of all, American cheese and cheddar are two totally different cheeses. Any moron knows that. I guess those Canadian schools are pretty pathetic.
You know, considering the only real contribution your country has given to the world is hockey, I don't think you could survive boycotting the US.
One last thing. LAY OFF THE COUGH SYRUP! That stuff will kill you.

you'd better hope the U.S. is not, in fact a "bunch of losers". They've been pulling most of Canada's weight defense-wise for a long time!

As for the U.N.... well, with any luck that long irrelevant organization will come out of this a truly toothless anachronism.

I saw a "peace" poster here in Alice Springs today and it brought a smile to my face.

It read: "In the event of a declaration of war on Iraq, please assemble at the Corner of Todd and Hartley Sts in your mourning black and transportation will be provided to the gates of Pine Gap for an all-night vigil. Remember the connection between Pine Gap and War!"

(for those of you who may not be familiar with 'Pine Gap', it is a U.S./Australian joint defense facility which participates in a wide range of intelligence gathering operations...it's known in feral-speak as 'the spy base')

Aside from that really pathetic attempt to 'do something- anything'.... someone (not me, I swear) had written under the heading-

"IT'S GONNA HAPPEN, GET OVER IT!"

Perhaps this would be good advice for you to follow, CampX?

Now let's not trash Canada, just because they have a dolt like CampX living there.
Isn't Canada being punished enough by his mere presence? :neener:

Folks, we're trying to keep to the High Road here. Campx, please understand that President Bush is trying to juggle many balls in the air. He could give the "go" word on Iraq in five minutes, but he's trying to avoid making too many new enemies by doing so. If he can, miraculously, pull off his diplomatic balancing act and political jigsaw puzzle, achieving his objectives without war, I'd be prepared to nominate him for a Nobel Prize in political skullduggery - it will be a brilliant achievement. However, if he is not successful, his (our) armed forces are ready, willing and able to ensure that success is achieved anyway.

For all those who've responded by being rude to Campx - folks, there's fun, and there's teasing, and I've done (and been the butt of) my fair share of it. However, there is also unnecessary rudeness, and this is NOT acceptable on the High Road. Please re-evaluate your responses.

Closing this thread to prevent further deterioration.
