Jeez, I had to quit watching it after a few minutes, the DFLers are just driving me nuts. Skoglund is saying this repassage is thumbing the court decision in the nose. All the courts ruled on was that it was passed "unconstitutionally". The courts did not rule on the content of the law. Sonds like it will go through committee without much bad stuff added, but too soon to tell.

Any MN folks that can watch and give us a play-by-play?

Edited to add: Looks like I cut out a few minutes to soon. Now they are playing some NPR stuff about the Florida make my day law.

This may be a thread about the senate, but I'm just so damned proud of myself I had to share...

I had previously e-mailed my representative about this issue. She's a member of the DFL party, and, shocker, I voted for her.

I got a response today, really made me happy with my choice. I've even had the pleasure of meeting this woman, which is more than I can say about ANY of the other politicians which supposedly represent me.

Dear XXXXXX,

I was not a supporter of this bill when it came out two years ago, but
I have honestly not seen a problem with it since it was passed.
Rather, people have had better training in gun safety because of the law
and the problems that I expected frankly did not seem to appear.
Therefore, I plan to support this bill if and when it comes before the
house.

Thank you for contacting me about this. I really do appreciate hearing
from the people who will be impacted by our decisions in St. Paul.

Sincerely,
Brita Sailer
State Representative
