Alabama / Florida CCW Question

I'm an Alabama CCW holder and will most likely be moving to Florida by the beginning of next year. I know AL's CCWs enjoy reciprocity with FL, but am I ahead of the game to go ahead and apply for a non-resident FL CCW prior to moving there? Or should I just hang in there and engage in the normal approval process once I arrive?

Thank you for any and all help!

Apply now. If you can, drive to Florida and use the electronic fingerprinting method as described here:

http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/CWCS/elecfingerprintinfo.html

It'll allow you to get you CWFL in less than 3 weeks. Then when you move, change your address here:

https://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/license/chgaddr.html

And pay $15 for a new license that way you won't have to worry about licensing issues in carrying to places like MI or NH. :)

It's as simple as that.
