Im lookingfor a good IWB holster that has that shirt tucker option? i have seen a leather one at Mitch Rosen, and sidearmor has an option for it too

Refering to Comp-Tac..

I think they are as good as it gets!! I use the C-TAC whichs is their newest holster and I am very pleased with it. A tuckable holster that can be adjusted for cant. It is also very stable and comfortable. Look at the pic. The shirt tucker is on the left, the C-TAC in the middle and the Gurkha on the right. Give them a call for more info on the C-TAC. It isnt on thier website yet.

Do you have pricing on the C-Tac, I've got the shirt tucker, and it tends to move around a lot (as designed, I might note, so if this is something you want, it can be a good thing.)

I got the shirt tucker to try out the concept, and I like it alright, will probably order the C-Tac, if I can get a sweat shield added.

One more vote for C-tac. I carry a SIG 232 in a C-tac IWB tuckable almost every day and could not be happier. I also special ordered it with a J-clip at no additional cost.

I paid $70 for my C-Tac plus $6 for shipping. The C-TAC Holster does come with a sweatshield on it. I love mine and it is more comfortable then my Kramer leather IWB and I can tuck in my shirt which I have done a couple of times.

Mitch, A little more info about the Sparks Versa Max 2 please.

I'm down south as you are and my daily wear is usually jeans and a golf shirt in the summer. I would like to do the tuck and not have to use a jacket or vest. No, you will never see me with a untucked tropical shirt. :(>>

The holster I am thinking about would be for an Officer's 45 with thinned grips. I'm only 5'9" and 150# and have a bit of overhang in the waist area.

Any input would be appreciated.

this c tac is looking better and better...........im really tired of the lack of options my Fobus offers.........wanting to step it up a notch...........i am 5'10" 150 lbs.........and im consider "skinny" by my peers...........so its going to be interesting if i can conceal my P99 UNDER a tucked in shirt without a bulge.
i have a cell phone case i carry on my belt strongside, so prehaps it can disguise the buldge...........
in this time, with the political tension and the possibilty of war, i want to be a bit better armed than my pocket carried Kel tec P32......

I carry a Kahr K-40 in a Milt Sparks VersaMax II. Maybe I can answer your questions.

When I bought my VM-2 they came with both the belt loops and the Kydex tuckable clips. The Kydex clips are now an option.

In MitchSchaft's picture both of the holsters shown have belt loops on them. Two screws, one under the snap and one farther down, hold the loops on and keep them from rotating. A small hex wrench (almost eliminates screw head damage) is provided with the clips to interchange them with the belt loops.

The clips are a flattened "Z" laying on it's side. The outer part faces down and hooks over the waistband of your pants. The other side faces up, which gives you a place to tuck in your shirt-tail, and fastens to the front of the holster's side tabs. The VM-2 differs from some (but not all) of the other designs in that the clips do not go over the belt, only the waistband. As a result the belt conceals most of the clip. The opening in the clip is not wide enough to go over the belt. However I've found that this method works quite well. The clips grip tightly and have fairly aggressive teeth. In fact they grip almost too well on thicker material like denim. When I wear jeans I've found that it's easier to put the holster on or remove it when I'm not wearing the pants. It does make it kind of difficult when you're trying to be subtle about taking your holster off in public. :rolleyes: I've never yet been able to pull the holster off slacks or jeans without spreading the jaws open first so I don't think it'll ever pull off by accident.

In any IWB moving the clips/loops off the holster keeps the thickness down and helps inhibit rotation. The rear loop does most of the work in a draw. The front loop serves better to keep the gun from rotating backwards and up in normal activities. The only drawback to double loops is that you double the chance of having a pants belt loop interfere with the holster. ( :cuss: you Sears for changing the double side loops on your Canyon River Blues jeans!)

VM-2's also have a reinforced mouth on the holster so you can reholster one-handed.

If there's any holster that'll hide an Officer's .45 under a tucked in shirt it's the VM-2! BTW, I've found that a little "overhang" :o actually helps conceal a gun.
